I didn‘t enjoy this book until halfway through when the two timelines finally came together… I did enjoy the characters enough that I do want to read the second book.

Oh, how I love a deckled edge!

⭐️⭐️1/2 I‘m not a fan of “coincidences” and I felt this had some that I couldn‘t look past. I loved the premise of a woman who knows what flavor in her cakes is just what a person needs, but then I think it was taken too far and she saw a vision(?) of the past in her mind?.. That and a couple other elements just took it past the point of believability for me. I wish I had enjoyed this more.

Was pleasantly surprised w/ my 1st book club book! I actually really enjoyed it & finished the last half last night & this morning! I definitely see the sequel in my future...& hopefully some cake cause now I'm hungry! Such a unique concept that hits therapists in the professionalism feels? lol. #MIPP

Day 18 #emojinov #🎂So many foodie fiction titles with cake or cupcakes in their titles on my shelves. I have only read four of these ten: Rabbit Cake 💛💛💛, Carrot Cake Murder (I could do a whole collage of cake titles from this mystery series), Baking Cakes in Kigali, & The Icing on the Cupcake. The others, mostly e-books, sit in my #TBR stacks. ...And now I want a piece of cake! 😋🎂🤗🍰

The research turnover.

Ongoing bakery research. This time, a turnover with local apple and pear filling, made with buckwheat pastry, baked dark. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it!

Sweet and magical. Reminds me of Sarah Addison Allen. It's a story that is current and real with a thread of magical realism.

Love it.

Only a few pages into this and loving it already. I need to savor this story.

I loved the story and the characters. Was about to be let down by the ending, but then realized there's more!! The memory of Lemon! Anyways.. I'm sure some will be disappointed with lack of recipes that may be expected, but I liked the story of the small town and families and friends. Good beach read👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️🤓🤓

Don't read on an empty stomach. Quick, light novel that doesn't challenge or inspire -- but fun for foodies! About a third finished.
