I'm just the messenger. Please, don't kill me. . . Don't hate me because I'm psychic. . .everybody else already does. My name's Clair Ivers and these days my "gift" seems more like a booby prize. It all started when this crazy woman tried to bribe me into skewing a reading to warm her future sister-in-law's cold feet. Then the prospective sister-in-law threatened to kill herself at the altar if I didn't give her a phony reading saying she should break off the engagement. Oh, and did I mention she ran out, leaving her three-carat rock of a ring right there on my table? So what's an honest woman to do? Find the man who belongs to the ring, of course. And boy, have I found him. The minute I lay eyes on Jack Heron, I know he's the one. . .for me, that is. The problem is making him realize it once he finds out that I may be responsible for the flight of his fiance. At least his grandmother likes me. Of course she thinks I'm someone else. And then there's the best man who keeps calling me for dates. . .and stock tips. Between the people who think I'm someone else, the people who wish I were, and the people who just want a bead on the winning Powerball numbers, I'm seriously considering packing in my deck for good. But not until I throw caution to the wind and make a play for my very own Jack of Hearts. . .

This book is insane. The chaos and calamity are off the charts. But it‘s funny and fast paced and all over the place. I belly laughed more than once.

I could not finish this book. I picked it up only to read a couple paragraphs before I put it back down. I finally gave up in chapter 10—my tbr is too large to waste time trying to force myself to read this book.

Rest of my review on GR:

Mommamanzi Amen to that! Glad you were able to put it down! On to the next one. 6y
wanderinglynn @Mommamanzi Thanks! 😀 I used to feel guilty for not finishing a book, but then I realized my tbr is too big, life is too short, and there are so many good books out there that there‘s no point in wasting time & forcing myself to finish one I‘m not enjoying. 😉 6y

1. Bookriot, but then I stupidly didn‘t do anything with the Litsy app for over a year.
2. Goodreads - I do the reading challenge every year
3. YES!!! Blame my large stack of #tbr on all the book sites! 📚📚📚
4. Well last night I finished City of Dark Magic. So this morning I‘m starting the tagged book.

Chellebearss I just started the good reads challenge this year. I always do a challenge on Library Thing in the 75 books group 😀 6y
wanderinglynn @Chellebearss I only recently started exploring LT. But I‘ve been on GR since 2008, so it‘s easier for me to use it. 😀 6y
Chellebearss @wanderinglynn I like the social aspect of LT. Starting my own thread and keeping it updated. I‘ve met many great friends there since 2011. I‘m just starting on GR 6y

I nearly bailed on this when it felt like the author was relying a little too much on the narrator's "gift" and the fantastical to make the story work. But, it got much better (albeit, predictable) and the last half improved. A cute, fun, light read for summer.

Why yes, yes I am reading the night before #24in48. You wouldn't run a marathon without training first, would you? Hmmm... maybe I should have done some carb loading tonight.

mrozzz 😂👍🏻 no you would NOT! 7y

By stack for this weekend's #24in48. The five remaining books from my #JulyTBR (there were only 8 to start...) and the two holds that came in for me at the library this week. If I get through one library book and two TBRs, I'll call the weekend a success.

Reviewsbylola Final Girls is a great choice! 7y
Yeah_I_Read What We Lose was a pretty quick read. It's only about 210 PGA and a lot of them are short. It's perfect for a read-a-thon 7y
janeycanuck @Reviewsbylola @Yeah_I_Read Final Girls has a longer hold list so I should read it first to get it back. But readathons call for shorter books... so I'm torn over which one I'll pick up first! 7y
