1. I'm babysitting my grandpuppy Ember, and he is getting along so well with Oakley.
2. I found a pretty snail on my tomatoes in the garden
3. Someone gave me a bunch of blue bottles to paint.
4. My African Violet is blooming
5. I have pretty asters blooming

I really enjoyed folding this Cube Snail by Gen Hagiwara. This was taught at this year‘s Origami World Marathon which I missed the live stream of. Thankfully, participants have access to instructional videos for a year. I couldn‘t resist posing this cutie outside. I think it would be cool to fold with patterned paper or do some gel printing on the shell side of the paper. @Catsandbooks #litsycrafters #creatures

I stubbornly remain in my funky little ‘I‘m still reading, but at a snail‘s pace‘ slump… This week I read the last chunk of Outrun The Moon & caught up on #LesMisCAD which I‘d fallen pretty far behind on. No Progress on Wollstonecraft or Dickinson so they‘ll roll over to June w the bulk of my May TBR. Next week I‘m hoping to finish The Lighthouse Witches & The Devil in the White City, but prob won‘t start anything new. #BookReport #WeeklyForecast

Question, especially for those of you who use Storygraph. How do you determine if a book is slow, medium, or fast-paced?

Soubhiville I rate based on how fast the plot moves. If the book takes place over just a few days or weeks, that‘s pretty fast. If the book encompasses years or lifetimes, I‘d definitely call that slow! I never thought about it before StoryGraph but I‘ve found I mostly read slow or medium paced books. 4y

Lcsmcat I think the pace of the writing determines it. So a “page turner” would be fast, but a book, even if it takes place during a 24 hour period, that makes you read more slowly to take it all in would be slow. For example, Ulysses by Joyce. It‘s one day, but it would take more than a day to read! 4y

janeycanuck I‘m like @Lcsmcat - for me, it‘s how quickly I get through the book. So if I‘m reading 100 pages in an hour, that‘s fast-paced. If I‘m reading 20 pages in an hour, that‘s pretty slow. 4y

Amandajoy @Soubhiville that seems like a good way to look at it. @Lcsmcat @janeycanuck that was how I approached it, but all the ones I think are are fast paced for that reason, storygraph labels them slow paced! 4y
