On this weeks Manuscript Monday, Book Interrupted member Meredith reviews Dr. Jen Gunter‘s book The Vagina Bible. Check it out here: https://www.bookinterrupted.com/post/manuscript-monday-the-vagina-bible
I finally finished a book. My reading has been slow lately. 🐌 I need to catch up on my reading challenge. This is the second year I've fallen behind. I blame the 🐶. Getting a puppy was a huge distraction. Now that she's more mature, I need to get back in the saddle. And I need to play less 🍬 crush... let's be honest 😏
This and Our Bodies Ourselves needs to be required reading. It's a little preachy, but I'm listening. I should have read this before the Menopause Manifesto, but it's not a disaster... or a vagastrophe 😆 I love her sense of humor. Don't put off getting healthy until your aren't healthy is what I say.
I flew through this, but it is also a handy reference book to have around for any questions you have about your vagina. From puberty to pregnancy to menopause, Dr. Gunter has you covered. Questions about treatments, hair removal, underwear, conditions, she looks at them all from the perspective of published studies and her 30-year practice. There is also information throughout for trans men taking testosterone where their care differs.
I did a #jolabokaflod for myself! Feminist Book Club did these cute gift boxes, and this one has the light blue tote, soy burlap-scented candle, girly socks, and of course, the book! I added white Reese‘s trees for a great Christmas Eve. Happy/Merry Christmas y‘all! ❤️🎄❤️🎄
