THIS BOOK, Y‘ALL. It gets more magnificent every time I reread it.

I‘m back to rereading faves. It‘s been eleven years since I last read SAILING TO SARANTIUM and I‘m so frickin excited to revisit it.
1. I don't usually plan my reading too far ahead, but I like to revisit faves in April and it could be time to reread the Sarantine Mosaic.
2. Nah, but the local kids started theirs today.
3. Hollyhocks.
4. If we're talking Jelly Belly: jelly beans. If we're talking those big jelly beans where the only flavour you get is generally sweet: chocolate eggs.

I‘m not usually an energy drink person, but I‘m working a long night shift today so I thought it might be best. This book is stunning by the way- loosely based on early Constantinople, Kay is able to play with history and the mid Roman Empire in a way I find breath taking and fascinating.
Happy thanksgiving to My American littens! Wishing I was home with a book today and a big family dinner. Alas, it‘s a regular working Thursday and I‘ll be spending another 5 hours at the hospital afterwards. It‘s been work, hospital, sleep since Sunday. I‘m exhausted but so beyond grateful for the love and support from all of you here. 💛🐡
So, another night in the hospital for my partner. But, if she stays stable until noon tomorrow she‘s clear to come home! Also this gelato is adorable and made in #yyc! 🍦
You know what goes well together? CFS/Fibro and spending hours hunched over a hospital chair. Bring on the fibro fog, bring on the body pain. Side note, I‘m sorry if my last few posts are kind of whiny but I love litsy and I feel like it‘s my safest place to vent/ exist/ be. #fibrofog #chronicpain
Thank you to everyone for your love! ? The fiancé will probably have to stay again tonight, but she‘s stable now and responding well to treatment. #litsylove #litsyfamily
Not how I had planned on spending my Sunday. Thank god for books as distraction. Fucking diabetes. 🚑🏥
For the most part I in no way shape or form miss taking the train to school everyday for half an hour each direction. What I do miss though is how a commute like that carves out the perfect time to be alone with a book. ❄️🚂
I enjoyed it a lot, especially Kay's ability to incorporate religion into his world. I had some issues with how Kay portrays women - they were some of my favorite characters but seemed to be mostly there for the men in the book to lust after.
Spent the afternoon reading in the park. California's treating me well!
A bit of reading while on the plane to Philly today. Last bit of traveling for a while. (And probably last bit of just for fun reading, at least until I settle into my schedule this semester.)
This morning's reading, featuring local fluffball and reading distraction Delilah
Guy Kay has got to be my favourite in the stack. And the Atwood is obligatory. Us Canadians have an interesting relationship to Atwood as an author that I don't think translates to foreign audiences. Great idea @Liberty
