This was ok but a little predictable. Sienna returns home after 10 years in London. The case of an unsolved murder has been reopened. And there are all sorts of strange things going on. It's fine but I had it figured out way too early.

As you can see by my rating, I didn‘t care much for this. There was a decent mystery within the story. But… Viv felt more like a cliche than a character, the romance was extremely cringey, the dialogue kept annoying me, and the writing was repetitive and just… not good. The truth is, I am elated to be done with this.

Great mystery that kept me guessing between 3 characters until the end. Enjoyed the main character.

I‘ve been meaning to post this review for a while. I‘ve been slacking so much when it comes to my reading. Anyhoo, I really loved this story and the portrayal of her mother with mental illness was spot on. As someone who inherited her own mental illness for her mother I know what it‘s like to wonder if that will be you. The only thing I didn‘t like about the book was the love triangle. That‘s where it fell flat for me.

Little less than 100 pages left 😬 wish I could stay up to finish it.

Started this morning and I'm already 101 pages in and enjoying it. I really need to read some of her older books sometime.

It took me awhile to get into this one, but when I did, I couldn‘t stop. Between a pick and a so-so, but with the twists, it does deserve a pick! The ending felt a tad rushed, but the whole second half was worth it.

I haven‘t read anything by Spindler since 2002... but this one sounded interesting. Sienna returns home to her small WI town after escaping #HardTimes a decade earlier between her mother‘s mental illness & discovering the freshly murdered corpse of a fellow undergrad. The murder is still unsolved & her presence seems to be stirring things up. Though fast-paced, it‘s not the most realistic book & the plot isn‘t completely satisfying. #NewYearNewYou

I owe Spindler an apology. I went into this book expecting I wouldn‘t like it. The last few mysteries I‘ve read have disappointing me and for the first few chapters I was determined this would end the same. But Spindler‘s writing is compelling; she draws you into the story and keeps your interest.

The ending felt a little too tidy (I‘m not a fan of the long killer monologues explaining everything) but overall a satisfying thriller.

I have read several other novels by Erica Spindler and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. This novel was no different. I love reading thriller novels and this one was full of twists and turns that the reader never sees coming. The reader never knows who the killer is until the very end. I really loved it!
