Claudia Kishi and her sister, Janine, don't get along. When their grandmotherhas a stroke, and Claudia has to spend most of her time sitting with her, shethinks the summer will be terrible. And things with Janine are going from badto worse. One of the Kishi sisters has to start being nicer.

#raisingreaders! (Apparently an exciting part of the book, based on her face. 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️)

janeycanuck Oh, how lovely! Has she been watching the new TV series? They‘ve done such a good job with it. 2y
howjessicareads @janeycanuck she hasn‘t! My eldest did. I bet she‘d love it too now :) 2y

Revisiting the BSC series is such a nice experience. A great cleanser between larger reads.

BookishGirl06 Plus they‘re so easy to get through and a great way to boost your reading goal if you‘re falling behind. 3y
JackOBotts @BookishGirl06 100% - this was my “what can I read today while waiting for the #BookSpin #s tomorrow” read 😂📚 3y

My fave reread of the series so far. Really liked the thoughtful exploration of Mimi‘s illness and recovery, & the conflict between Claudia and her sister, that they realize both of them have been unfairly pigeonholed. 4/5 ⭐️

I decided to knock of few more of these out of the way. I don‘t think Janine is so mean as Claudia thinks, just miscommunication and misunderstandings don‘t help their relationship.

Trina_L I wanted to revisit this series ! 6y
Aloisi_tribe Have you listened to The Baby-Sitter's Club Club Podcast? It's two guys on their late 20s/early 30s who read and discuss each one of the BSC books. It's absolutely my favorite podcast. 6y
BookishGirl06 @Aloisi_tribe actually no. I didn‘t realize there was one. Maybe sometime in the future after I‘m finished 6y

Day 9: Comic/Manga/Graphic Novel

My daughter is not a natural reader like I am. It is foreign to me but I know not everyone is as passionate about books as I am.

Enter this beauty! She had read one of my original Babysitters Club books and found this at #Powells during our #Portland weekend. She devoured it. Win!

annahenke Have you listened to The Babysitter's Club CLUB podcast?? So hilarious. Two 30-something guys reading and analyzing the books in funny, positive discussions. For adults, not children. ☺️ 8y
josie281 @annahenke I have not but I adore a fun podcast. I will search it. Thanks for the insight! 8y
Krisjericho If she likes those, Raina Telgemeier, who illustrated them, has 4 other graphic novels geared toward teens and tweens. Also, have her check out Roller Girl! My very favorite middle grade graphic novel. 8y
josie281 @Krisjericho She bought Roller Girl at the last book fair! She also has Sisters and Drama. Thanks for sharing. We also found Nancy Drew graphic novels and those are pretty cool too. 8y
