Wanted a light change of pace so what can go wrong for a YA fantasy set in alternate French Revolutionary times? Just about everything- shallow one note characters, plotting you can see a mile away, and most unforgivable dropping of contemporary cliches (okay, agency, etc.) into what supposedly is world built fantasy vocabulary. Photo; how I feel about this book.
