Dragons vs Humans: is this the end? Find out in the twelfth book in the How to Train Your Dragon series. It is the Doomsday of Yule. At the end of this day, either the humans or the dragons will face extinction. Alvin the Treacherous is about to be crowned the King of the Wilderwest on the island of Tomorrow. His reign of terror will begin with the destruction of dragons everywhere. The fate of the dragon world lies in the hands of one young boy as he stands on the nearby isle of Hero's End with nothing to show, but everything to fight for. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third's Quest is clear. First he must defeat the Dragon Guardians of Tomorrow and prove that he is in fact the rightful king, even though Hiccup has none of the King's Things and Alvin the Treacherous has all ten of them. And then he faces his final battle: Hiccup must fight the Dragon Furious and end the Rebellion ... ALONE. As Doomsday draws to an end can Hiccup be the Hero of the hour? Will the dragons survive? How to Train Your Dragon is now a major DreamWorks franchise. Just finished listening to the final installment of the How to Train Your Dragon series on audio. I already loved this series but was encouraged by a Litten to listen to it on audio and it has truly been a wonderful experience! So much fun with great characters and music!

And here‘s one of the pages I colored while listening. So fun and relaxing!

AkashaVampie I'm gunna have to check this out. I loved the movies 4y
TheDaysGoBy @AkashaVampie The books have some major differences than the movies. Just fair warning. But I started with the movies too (at least the first two) before reading the books and I still adore them! They‘re so good! I hope you enjoy! 4y
mom2bugnbee I LOVED those audiobooks. To be fair, however, David Tennant is one of my favorites. But I thought he was wonderful, doing all of the different voices. 4y
AkashaVampie @TheDaysGoBy thanks for the heads up sweetie. 4y
TheDaysGoBy @mom2bugnbee Yes all the different voices really added to the fun! 4y

Going on a short walk while continuing this audiobook! Final one in this series. Even though at times it is repetitive, I still enjoy it big time! Especially as it is read by the brilliant David Tennant! The entire series of 12 books is for free on Youtube, and I can recommend listening to them all!

julesG You had me at David Tennant.😁 5y
ju.ca.no @julesG he is the best at everything😁 audiobooks included!😍🥰🥰🥰 5y

1. Tagged the final book of the How to Train Your Dragon series. I will never not pimp that series 😂
2. Neither. I used to like them but recently discovered I lost my taste for them
3. Sunset. I‘m almost never awake for sunrise 😂
4. I‘d be trip planning for sure! Hotels, plane tickets, etc
5. 3rd grade maybe. I met the girl that was turned out to be my best friend through 12th grade

mom2bugnbee Have you listened to the audiobooks, performed by David Tennant? Magnificent! 5y
TheDaysGoBy @mom2bugnbee No I haven‘t. Maybe I‘ll have to give them a try. Thanks! 🙂 5y

I just finished the last book of the How to Train Your Dragon series. They were so enjoyable! The movies may have started me on this journey but the books were wonderful. And I truly can‘t wait until my nephews get older and I can share this series with them.

My daughter and I just finished the entire series on audiobook and, I have to say, I was as invested as she was. David Tennant is a BRILLIANT narrator, but, more than that, the books are charming and funny and genuinely engaging. I‘m really happy she and I got to experience them together 💗

Such a satisfying conclusion to one of the most enjoyable middle grade fantasy series I‘ve read. I have to admit that it took me several books to resign myself that the movie and books were different, but the books ended up charming me thoroughly. The characters are well developed, the stories intriguing, and the lessons taught are valuable without being too “in your face”. I‘ll miss my time with Hiccup and his crew.

jfalkens Was this the final book? 6y
jfalkens @BooksAtNight I might have to try them again. My husband and I were reading them but the pain of How to train your Dragon 2 made us bail and we haven't seen the first one since either. 6y

BooksAtNight @jfalkens Hahaha, I loved the first movie and gave up on the second. The books are pretty different from the movies. And definitely try them as audiobooks if you can - David Tennant narrates then! While I don‘t agree with all of his voices, he does a good job being consistent and bringing the story to life. 6y
jfalkens @BooksAtNight we loved the first movie and hated the second, haven't been able to watch the first since. We made it pretty far into the series, posted below as spoiler, but saw the second movie at that point and couldn't finish the books either because even tho they are very different it still reminded us of it lol 6y
jfalkens @BooksAtNight I think we bailed around when Hiccup gets stranded on an island. 6y

Not a large number of books read in December, but a decent page count due to one being nearly 900 pages. Not bad for such a busy month!

I forgot that I got this yesterday at goodwill. It was a 50% off day but this is the only book I found. It was pretty slim pickings. Still, 35¢ for a hardback, barely used kids book. The only thing showing it isn't brand new is the previous owners name on the inside

If I had a kid, I'd make sure my kid read this series. (Well, this one first then HP later.) Perfect for an introduction to worlds of literature. Perfect for morality lessons. Perfect for a book. I almost die from the emotional blow. So in love. ❤️

That moment when the author paid a tribute (a very subtle one) to Albus Dumbledore. 😍 This series is priceless. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
