I had read this once before, but forgotten most of it, so this reread was a lovely reminder of what a delightful story this is! Highly recommend 🚂📚

A middle grade fantasy book that I was looking forward to reading. A train that can travel through impossible places, a young girl on an adventure of a lifetime and even a frog trapped in a snow globe.
An ok read. I think younger children would fully enjoy the fantasy elements. The plot got more interesting after half way through the book but the ending was predictable. I won‘t read the next in the series but the illustrations were great.
I don‘t know if it was the book or me, but I could not stay focused on this at all, and that weirdly fast paced end did not help in the least. I liked the idea of the other worlds and the different species, but it was unrealistic that the author kept wanting us to hate, then trust, then hate a bit again on certain characters. A fine book, but I will not be reading the next one. 3⭐️
A cute & imaginative middle grade read that took me on quite a ride. The beginning was a bit of a slow start, but once the story gained some speed it became a book I didn't want to put down. The characters are cute & I loved the twists & turns with touches of evil. There is a great sense of mystery throughout the narrative & the atmosphere is a lot of fun. There is a lot of action packed into this little story & it was just a great time.
Happy Book Lovers' Day, everyone! 📚
And thank you, @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks for sending me this beautiful picture 🥰
It started out slow and uneven, but around chapter 8 or so it started to pick up speed. Suzy, a physics-obsessed human 11-year-old, gets caught up in a nasty plot involving the Impossible Places and the forces ruling it/them. There‘s a train and its quirky crew (a blonde brown bear and some trolls), the Troll Postal Service, sorcerers, a boy in a snow globe who knows more than he shares...worth a try. #doublespin done
“‘I mean, a novelty frog! She didn‘t even turn me into something classy, like a candlestick or a clock.‘”
I was kind of struggling with the beginning of this book, but a Beauty and the Beast reference made me willing to give it more of a chance. Also, the story picks up around chapter 8.
Train to Impossible Places p39 9/2/21
Got to chapter 4, it's just not for me unfortunately! I can think of people who would enjoy it but I just couldn't get into it
This was a cute, fun read, with a small plot twist that actually got me. Picked this up cause the cover art caught my eye. (Not going to lie, I will totally judge a book by its cover, especially a kids book—I love good illustrations!) #MordecaiReads #morebookslessbullshit2019
This was so damn cute! First of all: love that the main character is a PoC. Theres a lot of confusion with the lack of explanations/being thrown into the middle of a magical world but i think it actually leant itself well. You see it all through the eyes of the main character; being a human in this troll world. The ending SENT ME into chaos. I was NOT expecting any of this. I'll definitely read the sequel
Time for a middle grade...and to get whine/cry interrupted every time I stop petting Watson to turn a page
Yeah, I admit it, this pic is just so I could show off my new 'library card' mug from Out Of Print. I loves, loves, loves it! This is my first drink out of it. 😍😍
But also...I just noticed the cute little frog embossing on the cover of my book and I squeeed! 🐸
There is a frog as an important character in the story and seeing that embossed on the cover made me 😊.
White pages & chocolate nanaimo bars?
Challenge accepted! 👊
Well, shit. I could have used this when I was in school! 🤔😂
Book maps...diagrams...charts...all books should start with a lil something something to get the old imagination juices flowing if ya ask me! 🚂😍🚂
I'm a sucker for any kind of story with a train as the setting so obviously a magic postal delivery train that could show up anywhere...shipwrecks on the bottom of the ocean...Trollville...outerspace...well...color me interested. 🤗
I'm starting this middlegrade up today and I'm pretty darn intrigued! 🤞
Suzy wakes in the middle of the night to find her parents asleep in front of the tv & someone building a set of train tracks through their house. The Impossible Postal Express is late & in a hurry, no time for explanations. Undaunted, Suzy hops aboard & soon finds herself in the midst of an awesome & unbelievable adventure. Trolls, trains, lies & secrets, a courageous young girl & more—a superb MG fantasy sure to please young readers.
