Like Cleo McDougal, i regret nothing! It‘s 59° outside, the snow capped mountains are in the distance and all is right with the world even though folding laundry needs to be done.

Have you read, Cleo McDougal Regrets Nothing by Allison Winn Scotch? I‘m almost finished with it!

Cleo is a senator and single mom to her only son. After losing her parents and not having a relationship with her sister, she has prided herself on being on her own. Then Cleo‘s ex-friend writes an op Ed piece, threatening her rep, and run at the White House. Can she right her wrongs or will she repeat them? The premise of a Senator
out for redemption has potential for laughs. There is humor, but,the tone shifts when Cleo faces other decisions.

In this book, we follow Cleo McDougal, an ambitious politician, a senator, who wants to run for president. An op-ed from her former best friend claiming she's not a good person forces her to look at her past regrets.

It's an entertaining story with a little too much drama for me... and some repetition. While I'm interested in reading political non-fiction, I'm not sure this kind of political comedy is for me.

I read six enjoyable novels!

Finally spent time with my grandnieces but haven't been able to enjoy the backyard due to smoke from Calif.'s fires. Band rehearsals couldn't resume & on Sept.1st, I couldn't go to Maui, as planned. 😢⁣

I wanted to like this more, but I couldn‘t find my way to liking the MC enough to say I liked it. But I liked it enough to finish it.

Cleo is a US Senator with presidential ambitions and a single mom of a teen. She‘s not always nice and she doesn‘t like to need help. When she tackles one of her biggest regrets, she sparks a #metoo type movement and has to deal with the fallout. Double standards about success are highlighted throughout.

This starts off as a light hearted story about a young, the youngest we‘re told time and again, female Senator that plans to run for president. I loved the idea and the omniscient narrator made it interesting. It turned into a bit of a Me Too story that ended up weighing down some fun characters. The author did a fabulous job of balancing what could have easily turned to male bashing with the choices women make, w/o compromising the message. 👇🏽

I have yet to actually read ANY of them thus far (ha!) but if any of you have the willpower to resist downloading free books you're stronger than me. Cleo McDougal actually piques my interest though - maybe that will be the first I give an actual shot! 😂
