Lost Cat: A True Story of Love, Desperation, and GPS Technology | 
My goofy sweet baby jumped out a window Friday night and hasn't been back since. I've left up his litter box, put up flyers, checked with animal control, searched outside for hours with his food bowl and a flashlight. I'm moving soon and worried he'll never come home. Anyone have any experience with this? I live in an apartment complex so it's hard to do a lot of the things they suggest online.

hgrimes oh no! Poor thing! Check under cars and ask neighbors around to keep an eye out and check their garages and other areas he could‘ve snuck into and inadvertently gotten locked inside. Also call every animal shelter in the area and send them a flyer. Good luck, hope you find your baby! I had a cat escape and get lost twice, and he was found both times, so don‘t lose hope! 7y

Lylah @hgrimes no garages here, just a ton of apartment complexes. Each apartment building has a billboard which I've put a flyer up on. I've checked under cars and in the giant bushes around here but there are so many I can't guarantee full coverage. 😞 7y
Lylah @hgrimes what is the nextdoor app? A lot of my neighbors are middle-aged and might not use those kinds of apps I feel. 7y
JoScho Oh no! There is probably a lost and found Facebook page for pets in your area. I would try that. I hope he comes home soon. 7y
hgrimes @Lylah Nextdoor is like a “neighborhood watch” app. I think a lot of middle-aged folks do use it, especially the paranoid types. Depending on where exactly you live, people will either mainly post about bear sightings, lost pets, or hearing gun shots! People also post about lost pets in the “lost and found” section on Craigslist. 7y
GripLitGrl So sorry to hear this if your town has a local own Facebook page or twitter account if seen posting pictures there. people have great success locating missing animals in my town via social media that way. People post pics of the animals in live time & the cops help out too. 7y
OrangeMooseReads Oh no! When this has happened to me kitty has always come back with in a day or two. Keep looking kitty might be in the right area just not able to get to your door. Cats know home even if they are an indoor cat they still know and can sense home if they get out. I second the Facebook pet lost and found I‘ve seen several people find lost pets that way. 7y

Lylah @GripLitGrl @OrangeMooseReads I have posted on three separate local Facebook pages, Craigslist, etc. Kitty definitely doesn‘t have access to my door because it‘s inside past three other doors in my apartment complex. I have the window that he escaped through open with tuna, his favorite toy, and catnip all over the sill. I know he can jump up to it but I haven‘t seen him around anywhere. 7y

Reviewsbylola I‘m so sorry. This happened to me with one of my cats last summer. He‘s older and isn‘t let out but I made the dumb decision to let him hang in my backyard last summer. Eventually he jumped the fence one day. He was gone for almost two weeks. I hope your baby comes home soon. It‘s so terrifying. 7y
Reviewsbylola So you have a neighborhood FB group? I posted my cat on there and also two neighbors posted pics of a cat that showed up and wouldn‘t leave and I recognized it as my guy. It was actually the way we eventually found him because our neighbor two houses down saw my post and when he saw Milo out on the street he dragged him home. 7y

Eyelit Have you tried the nextdoor app (if it‘s something you‘re neighborhood uses) - I‘ve seen lost pets reunited with owners through that app and lots of cross posting. I‘m sorry to hear your kitty is missing and I‘ll be holding out hope he‘s found soon! 💜 7y
Eyelit Also have you tried putting something of yours (or the cats bed/banket) outside so the kitty can maybe smell it out and find it‘s way home? 7y
Purrfectpages That‘s the worst feeling! Our one cat got out once, but he came back. I hear they are very resourceful that way. Here‘s hoping to his safe return soon! 7y
