I loved the Weekly Reader when I was in elementary school, hence the tag. I might be showing my age because I don‘t think my girls had them when they were in school. 😬 Anywho, of the 9 books on this week‘s overly ambitious #WeeklyForecast, 5 are print books. I really need to thin both my physical and digital TBR‘s. This week, I‘m going to try to focus on print. @Cinfhen

Tamra Weekly Reader books! I got those for years. 😁 4y
Cinfhen I LOVED weekly readers but I haven‘t seen/read one in years 😢My youngest child definitely brought them home when he was in 3rd or 4th grade but he‘s a senior in HS now 🤯 #Memories AnyWho, good luck with that backlist TBR I‘m hoping to #KickMyKindlesAss next month and just read from my Kindle ~ we‘ll see how that goes 4y
dariazeoli Oooh, Weekly Reader! That‘s a blast from the past! ❤️ 4y

CocoReads @Cinfhen I love that #KickMyKindlesAss idea! 4y
Cinfhen I‘m really good at accumulating those #DailyDeals but NOT SO GOOD at reading them 😝 4y
CocoReads @Cinfhen same. Plus I can hardly resist a 99 cent romance. Or anything that‘s under $3 really. 4y

Favorite Children's Scary Read: 'The Ghost of Windy Hill' is about a haunted house/ghosts and suspicious neighbors... It also has some great black ink/watercolor/gouache illustrations inside! Probably best for Middle School readers, though I wonder if it holds up well to 21st Century scrutiny spoiled by Neil Gaiman 😉#AllHallowsRead

LitHousewife I have such good memories of reading this and spooking myself out with the pictures. 8y

Pickpick

This is another book that I absolutely loved when I was young. The story was just the right amount of scary for me. I can't remember a lot about the plot anymore, but I have very vivid memories of the illustrations, which were fantastical spooky. I wish I still had my copy, but it is one that I've lost along the way. It's out of print, but I'd love to find a copy someday and reread it. If you've read it, I'd love to hear your memories of it.

Dogearedcopy OMG! I still *have* this book! I don't remember anything about it though, so I'm actually putting it in my #24in48 stack! Leafing through it quickly, the illustrations are pretty amazing. I can't tell if the originals were pen & ink, gouache, or watercolor; but they translated well into a print run! 8y
LitHousewife @Dogearedcopy Really??? Oh, please share some pictures this weekend if you read it. My library has it, but it's checked out right now. You can buy it online rather cheaply, but I'm going to look around here for it first. I'm looking forward to your thoughts. 8y
LauraBeth WOW - I haven't thought about this book since 1978!! I lived next to a road called Windy Hill so I loved it ❤️ 8y
LitHousewife @LauraBeth I am jealous of your street name. Fun! 8y
