Anthony Dominick Benedetto (August 3, 1926 – July 21, 2023), known professionally as Tony Bennett, was an American jazz and traditional pop singer. He earned 20 Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. A lovely memoir highlighting many performers that I enjoyed in the 1950s and 1960s.

This is my review for a book I just finished. I wasn‘t sure if I was going to like this book because I‘m still not that familiar with his music even though I heard a song he sang with Lady Gaga and I watched a tv special where he was performing some songs. I don‘t really follow Jazz music but I still feel like I got something out of reading this and I liked how the book was written.

Here‘s my sweet 89-yr-old Mom with her signed edition of Tony Bennett‘s memoir. I‘ve been reading to her since she‘s stuck in bed after fracturing her ankle. Mom shared her own stories being from the same era and neighborhood. She even sang a few bars whenever Tony recalled a classic tune. Tony shares rich lessons on authenticity and social justice. I had no idea he marched at Selma with MLK. 💪🏻Clearly a thumbs up from both me and Mom.😊👍🏻

My hour one is just getting started. 😳 I‘m currently reading all of the above, and as I‘m not halfway through any of them, I‘ve decided to focus my #24in48 reading on finishing them. I‘ve got some other books on tap if I change my mind or finish these. Onwards!👍🏽
