I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but the wordiness got in the way. It was so delightful in parts; in others, I felt like the wittiness took away from the story. An enjoyable end to my festive reading.

Merry Christmas Eve from my side of the world! This is my most recent festive read and what I still consider as my Christmas socks (as they're red and I got them at Christmas). I hope you're all warm and cozy wherever you are! (Unless you're in the southern hemisphere, in which case you might prefer cool and breezy.) ☃️⛱🎄

Festive and fun, a delightful read! The mystery was intriguing, the characters colourful, the red herrings plentiful and misleading, and the conclusion quite satisfying. This was a very zippy read and while festive, didn‘t hit you over the head with the holidays. I highly recommended it!
A nice little cosy Christmas murder mystery set in a stately home. Reminiscent of Gosford Park and similar. +26pts for #MerryReaders #WinterGames
A 1930s Country House murder, on Christmas morning; an incompetent policeman and a gentleman detective - a perfect story for me. #WinterGames #MerryReaders
I‘ve struggled to find the time to read this novel, the Kindle ones I can read in bed, so having a couple of hours this evening, I thought I‘d get on with it. Pablo has other ideas (again), he‘s worse than a cat! #PetsOfLitsy #DogsOfLitsy
It‘s an incredibly dark afternoon in Yorkshire, so I‘m indulging in a Christmas murder mystery and a glass of ginger wine #WinterGames #MerryReaders
