Sasha, a disgraced influencer and childhood friend Dyson begin The Atmosphere in a remote, wooded camp. This “retreat” (cult) will cure men of their toxic masculinity. Backstories are plentiful. Motivations are learned. Satire, though I wasn‘t completely sold on it. But the cover alone is 😍

Sharp, witty and dark. Odd, but I kinda liked it. It‘s a satire of society, obsessed with ‘likes‘ and ‘cancel‘ culture. Sasha is an influencer and after an ‘unfortunate‘ incident with a troll (reminiscent of Ms. Tiegen‘s current woes) gets cancelled. Desperate, she decides to help an old friend, by creating a cult for men to purge their toxic masculinity. This book is bizarre and unsettling. But definitely a unique take on our image obsessed world

6-23-21: My 68th finished book of 2021! This was a weird one but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sasha, an internet sensation has a run in with an online troll, with devastating results. At her lowest point, her best friend Dyson, convinces her to help him start a rehabilitation community called The Atmosphere, designed to rid men of their toxic masculinity. Very clever concept. A little unnerving but entertaining. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍🏼📖#️⃣6️⃣8️⃣

Sasha has a spectacular rise and fall as an influencer, so her friend rescues her by having them form a cult together that helps problematic men fix themselves. This is awesome feminist satire with a dystopian component that I found to be outrageous good fun.

Such a f***ing bizarre book, yet compulsively readable.

Sasha is an Instagram influencer. When a guy who‘s trolling her livestreams his suicide and blames her, Sasha‘s world implodes. After a few horrible months, Sasha‘s friend Dyson contacts her and wants to start a cult with them as leaders. This book is a literary dystopian tale of that cult founded to rid the world of toxic masculinity.

I forgot Nothing Personal was coming out, so I snapped the #audiobook up. Sales finally turns the pen on herself after years of covering teen sex and dating. She‘s hooking up with 20somes on Tinder at 50. Definitely on the spiceometer! 🌶

Historical Corrections is a #reread, and I definitely recommend it!!

This novel is published today! Looks soooo good but I have too many checked out as it is and several I‘m in the middle of reading. I couldn‘t possibly add another to my stack. Could I?? 🤔 💭

Alex McElroy brilliantly tackled a fascinating concept through a hyperbolic setting, yet its ridiculousness makes you realize how absurd so much of what we unwittingly allow to control us really is. They managed to make me question whether or not I should write this review, telling all of you that you should read this book!

Sasha's friend Dyson decides to start a cult, and convinces Sasha to go along with him. The thing is, Sasha is very good at being a cult leader, even when she is not trying.

My favorite part was when Sasha was recruited by DAM, a cult-like organization that had a utopian vibe. I‘m fascinated with people trying to create the perfect society. And seeing the cracks appearing in the foundation. This book was interesting and had a lot of good ideas.

I don‘t always make a TBR list for the month, but these are the books I would like to read in December.
