To be honest, I was very pleasantly surprised with this book! When I read the description, I thought it would take me a couple of days to get through it, but I ended up finishing it in a day! It was much more intense and heavier than I expected - but I enjoyed it

A great contemporary novel about parenthood, unconditional love, and making impossible decisions. The storyline was interesting but could have failed in a less-skilled author‘s hands. This grabbed ahold of me and didn‘t let go until the conclusion. Heart wrenching in parts.

I feel like this book slid by under the radar... Which is unfortunate because this was a really suspenseful, gripping read. As someone who struggled with infertility, I found myself relating to the characters in this book - and revisiting these memories was painful. Beneath all of the misery surrounding these characters, there is also hope. And the powerful force that is motherhood. Prepare yourself for all the emotions ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What seemed to be a cheesy story about motherhood in suburbia turned into something completely different. However, a lack of sympathy for the main characters (except Carli) and the a bit too simple storyline make this a so-so for me. Thanks for sharing this one with me Meg, it was totally suitable for a lazy vacation day 🤍😘

This one started out a little slow for me but I am glad I stuck with it. What a mom would do for her child is unlike anything else.

This book wasn‘t at all what I expected. I wasn‘t sure that I wanted to read another story about adoption. This was not just another story about adoption. It was a real page turner that I sped through. It really picked up at about the half way point. My perception about the characters totally changed between the beginning and the end. Thank you, Goodreads, for the ARC.

If this book were a song, it would be Baba O‘Riley. It starts out slowly as one thing - a book about the difficulties of infertility and the stress of adoption. Then, it suddenly becomes the loud screaming excitement of being chased across the Midwest and assuming new identities. Definitely not what I was expecting, in a good way. The picture is a clue to who‘s getting it next. 🤔😉 @BarbaraBB

I enjoyed this book from start to finish! R.J. gives enough information on each character to make you invested in their perspective and role in the whole ordeal. At times, I found myself rooting for characters that I didn't think I would side with. The book became suspenseful, so I stayed up to finish it. I liked that the ending wasn't too tidy and didn't wrap up too quickly.

Emotional read about what defines a mother. A couple who can't have a baby decide to adopt. Before the adoption is finalized, the birth mother changes her mind. Choices are made that can't be undone and the question of who is truly looking out for the best interest of the child becomes blurred.

Just on the line between a pick and a so-so. I really enjoy books that present difficult situations where there's no real hero or villain, but with too many perspectives this didn't quite work. Little Fires Everywhere handles the same topic with more success.
