Blessed Monsters
Blessed Monsters | Emily A Duncan
8 posts | 6 read | 6 to read
The startling conclusion to the instant New York Times bestselling Something Dark and Holy trilogy The girl, the monster, the prince, the queen. They broke the world. And some things can never be undone. In Emily A. Duncan's Blessed Monsters, they must unite once more to fight the dark chaos they've unleashed - but is it already too late? This edition uses deckle edges; the uneven paper edge is intentional.

Mehso-so

Only read the third one because my library had it on audiobook. Naive characters fall for evil characters and ignore all the red flags. The Church is corrupt, gods are vindictive, humans are foolish, and the fate of the world is on 4 young adult‘s shoulders. 5/10

Bailedbailed

Such a disappointment compared with first 2 books. I DNFd this at about 70%

I loved the first 2 books but this third book for me felt so different. The pacing was off. There was too much repetition of internal monologue & descriptions. I found myself skipping ahead to see if the story moved on to more interesting things, but in the end I decided I wasn't invested enough to finish

Thanks @BookwormAHN for helping my decision to bail.

FantasyChick Ugh....this is disappointing. I have this all queued up to read next. 3y
BookwormAHN Your welcome. Sometimes it's just best to bail 😾 3y
LazyOwl @TheAromaofBooks I forgot, this was also my #bookspin 3y
LazyOwl @FantasyChick yeah, so annoying when I really enjoyed the first 2 😔 3y
TheAromaofBooks Oh it's always such a bummer when a series doesn't play out!!! 3y

Im seriously considering bailing on this with only 30% left to go Its disappointing as I really enjoyed the first 2 books

Pacing is excruciatingly slow & theres way too much repetition of character descriptions & internal monologue

I dont think Ive ever DNFd a book this far into a series as I usually power through to find out what happens but at this stage I dont know if I care enough to persevere

Has anyone read this? Is the ending worth it?

BookwormAHN I read it and no it's not. I really like the first two this one was really disappointing. 3y

This is the conclusion to The Something Dark and Holy Trilogy. And I really wanted to enjoy it. I loved the first two but this one was way too long and the attempt at a happy ending seemed really fake 😾

LazyOwl That's disappointing. I still have this on my TBR. I'm intrigued with how the story is concluded. 3y

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 98.
