pickTold by two perspectives side by side is a very eye opening account of a neighborhood confidant and a neighborhood monster. I enjoyed viewing the world from little Liza‘s perspective during the time she spent her summers with a soon to be serial killer. I found her survival of being raised with her mother hopeful. I‘m astounded that is what I will take away from this book. Not the serial killer aspect. We never truly know someone..do we?
so-soWhen a true crime is written by a person who knew the individual but didn‘t know they were a serial killer, the nitty gritty is often missing IMO. Liza‘s chapters were good but didn‘t add much (not even of Costa), and I was more worried about her mother. Case information begins around chapter 45 out of 64 chapters and so I found myself completely lacking in any semblance of the victims and Costa.
It was interesting but I wanted more.

pickThis was pretty good. I'll definitely have to look into the case now. I did prefer the crime POV over the author's story. Her side of things didn't add anything other than just to let the world know she knew a serial killer 🤷♀️
