Afternoon update on the snow situation in southern Michigan, and catching up on January reviews. I like this series, and I enjoyed the second installment in it. This series isn‘t in my top tier (Gamache, Lynley, Serailler, for example), but it‘s very enjoyable. The writing can feel a little clunky at times, as in “and then they ate a sandwich” clunky. It‘s not seamless in how information is imparted. 👇🏻

MittenGirlPeach But I really like Matilda and the mysteries are engrossing and keep me guessing. I‘ve got the third book in my TBR stacks. I‘ve been able to find them used via Amazon; my library doesn‘t carry them. The advantage to buying books is being able to share them! I sent a number home with my brother after his New Year‘s visit. 3y
MittenGirlPeach The picture was taken this afternoon from our back deck. I just thought it was a pretty composition. The snow is still falling here, so we‘ll see what tomorrow looks like. We‘re on a dirt road, and since it rained all last night (ugh) then froze and snowed, it‘s treacherous out there, despite the plows having been through. Another good reading and watching curling day is in store for tomorrow! 3y

A good addition to the Matilda Darke series. I‘m definitely going to continue with it. 😀 I loved seeing Matilda get tougher and more brave. Also seeing her emotions made her more real. I also LOVED the fact that Helen Grace made a very small appearance. It makes me happy to see a favorite series get mentioned in another book! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you so much @robinb for gifting me this book! 💕💕💕

robinb So happy to hear this! 😊 And you‘re most welcome. XOXO BTW, is there any romance here? You know me, always looking for a hint of romance. 😆😆 (edited) 3y
