This one had more of the regular level of ridiculousness 😂 Favorite parts included the police acting very clever because they determined that two masked men who attempted to break into the house at the same time were working together; the girls acting like sitting behind empty picture frames was a brilliant hiding spot; literally everyone not only knowing how to sail but being really great ⬇
pickA soft pick for these two loosely-connected stories that take place on Nantucket a year apart. These were super Hallmarky and perfectly pleasant. I enjoyed the first more than the second, because the mom in the second story drove me kind of crazy. But the greatest tragedy is that I was 160 pages in and all of the sudden the book skipped to page 216!! Right at the big finale of chaos (you know, where the kid ran away with the puppy and supper is ⬇
pickLoose ends from first book are tied up. Kimball is a PI, hired by a former student (Joan) to find out if her husband (Richard) is cheating on her. Multiple POVs, let us understand events from the past, and tell us the story in the present. Lily Kintner makes an appearance. I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. One OMG moment for me! Overall, a very good read!

Just starting to get into the series and characters. Good detective plot and personal sub plots.
Long book but worthwhile so far. I‘d love to finish it before Libby snatches it back again, but I‘ll be happy to get to the 50% mark. I barely remember anything more than the major details of the first four books, but that‘s okay.
For #seriesread2024 non-mystery edition I‘ve also activated the bail option for The Perfumist of Paris. As much as I enjoyed the first two books, this one just wasn‘t working for me.
I‘m in the middle of a couple long books, so I snuck this in under the wire for January. I predicted the perpetrator and knew about the change in the DI‘s situation, but neither panned out as I expected. All in all a good story.
Meanwhile for #seriesread2024 mystery edition and my #readorbail effort, I decided to bail on Boar Island since I really wasn‘t enjoying it. A friend of mine from Maine didn‘t like it, and considering that it‘s set there…
