In a delightful follow-up to Written in the Stars, Alexandria Bellefleur delivers another #ownvoices queer rom-com about a hopeless romantic who vows to show his childhood crush that romance isnt dead by recreating iconic dates from his favorite films... Brendon Lowell loves love. Its why he created a dating app to help people find their one true pairing and why hes convinced the one is out there, even if he hasnt met her yet. Or... has he? When his sister's best friend turns up in Seattle unexpectedly, Brendon jumps at the chance to hang out with her. Hes crushed on Annie since they were kids, and the stars have finally aligned, putting them in the same city at the same time. Annie booked a spur-of-the-moment trip to Seattle to spend time with friends before moving across the globe. Shes not looking for love, especially with her best friends brother. Annie remembers Brendon as a sweet, dorky kid. Except, the 6-foot-4 man who shows up at her door is a certified Hot Nerd and Annie... wants him? Oh yes. Getting involved would be a terrible ideaher stay is temporary and he wants foreverbut when Brendon learns Annie has given up on dating, hes determined to prove that romance is real. Taking cues from his favorite rom-coms, Brendon plans to woo her with elaborate dates straight out of Nora Ephrons playbook. The clock is ticking on Annies time in Seattle, and Brendons starting to realize romance isnt just flowers and chocolate. But maybe real love doesnt need to be as perfect as the movies... as long as you think your partner hung the moon.

Maybe because I didn‘t read book 1 I‘m not getting the hype for book 2. It was an ok read and had an ok cast of characters but it‘s been a book I‘ve picked up and put down a few times and finally committed to finishing. Sweet and ok. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #100readchallenge #romantsy #marchreadinglist #readingchallenge2022

This is the sequel to Written in the Stars and all the characters appear in it. This came off as manipulative instead of sweet. Brendon and Annie reconnect after 8 years when Annie came to Seattle to tell her bff, Darcy, she was moving to London for a promotion. The rest of the book was 4 people peer pressuring Annie into moving to Seattle, a city she's never lived in, because Brendon and her were meant for each other...after 2 weeks of dating.

These are not the best written novels, but I enjoy them.

FelinesAndFelonies Jenga is more accurate than I care to admit. #Sagittarius. 3y

batsy I adore Clue, so this is super accurate 😆 3y

So good!!! Bellefleur writes the best, funniest, most realistically flawed people who can banter like nobody's business. #romcom

I read WRITTEN IN THE STARS last year, about Elle and Darcy who fell in love despite being opposites. Darcy's brother played a significant role in that story because he owns a dating app and believes in true love. In HANG THE MOON, it's his turn for romance, and with Darcy's best friend, a woman he had a crush on as a teenager.↘️

ReadingEnvy If you like Seattle as a setting, close friend groups, and a slow burn romance without a lot of high stakes, this is the one for you..for me I felt like it could have been harder, honestly, but maybe I read it in the wrong mood.↘️ 3y
ReadingEnvy Another thing I've noticed a few authors doing is borrowing heavily from THE LOVE LANGUAGES and I guess it's an interesting way to talk about how people do relationships, but I know it as so closely aligned with evangelical Christianity and heteronormative relationships that I balk at it in a novel like this. Can't people just be unique and not a type? Or what about the astrology typing his app uses that gets little mention in the novel? ↘️ 3y
ReadingEnvy But it is fun to see Brendon try out his rom-com grand gestures, and there are some funny moments. #romantsy 3y

I absolutely loved this book. Annie and Brandon were in the authors first book Written in the Stars so I was excited to see them get their own book. I loved all the rom-com references in the book. Brandon has created his very own dating app. But has never found love. Annie doesn't believe in love. Can Brandon show her that love really does exist? They had such a fun journey to love. This was my #doublebookspin from this month.

Lovesbooks87 I also finished my #bookspin book for this month but forgot to post it. @TheAromaofBooks 3y
