Treated myself today at my local indie bookstore and this was my haul. I love #blinddatewithabook and it was the tagged book, which was not on my radar but it sounds good. 📚

This was my first time reading a Novel by Hank Phillippi Ryan so i wasnt sure what to expect but i have to say i enjoyed it very much. It reminded me alot of Lisa Jewell's The Night She Disappeared but way better!! The Characters were so enjoyable to read about. Lily and Rowan were definately my favorites.

The next thrilling standalone novel by USA Today bestselling author Hank Phillippi Ryan.Everyone knows Lily Atwood—and that may be her biggest problem. The beloved television reporter has it all—fame, fortune, Emmys, an adorable seven-year-old daughter, and the hashtag her loving fans created: #PerfectLily. To keep it, all she has to do is protect one life-changing secret. Her own.
Posting my #bookspinbingo board even though, I haven't finished A Flicker In the Dark yet...but we are going on a long drive today and I only have a couple of hours left in the book...so I will finish it today.😎
The tagged book was my #bookspin and that was another DNF...that makes my total books DNF'd for 2022 a whopping 7.😲
11 books total and only 1 #bookspinbingo for the month. Definitely not my best month.😜

TV Reporter Lily Atwoood's viewers thinks she has a perfect life along with her young daughter Rowan. Lily's older sister Cassie that went missing in college at the age of 18 appears to be reaching out to Lily years later and a man posing as a private detective says she's been in the witness protection program. All the secrets of the past resurface and things are not as they seem.
It was fine, but it kind of meandered for me; HPR‘s other books all grabbed me and pulled me in pretty much right away, but this one…meh. I didn‘t particularly care about these people, and the twist and climax weren‘t particularly shocking. Overall, I didn‘t hate it, but I‘m not going to feel compelled to tell people to read it, either. 🤷🏻♀️ #herperfectlife #hankphillippiryan
I‘ve enjoyed all of Hank Phillippi Ryan‘s books so far, so I‘m excited to have a new one to tackle! #herperfectlife #hankphillippiryan

I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Lily as she went about living her life. This book was filled with many stunning twists and turns, truly a satisfying page-turner. Such a suspenseful and engrossing read. It kept me guessing until the very end. Well done!
A TV reporter has to hide all her dark secrets to maintain her 'perfect' persona. I love this author, but this book? Not so much. It was fast paced & well written, but I felt ambivalent about the characters (make me love them or hate them, please!). The plot was too farfetched, relying on the characters being unbelievably naïve. And I realize I read an ARC, but when ages, time past, etc. are inconsistent, it makes my brain stutter. Edit first!
Review is up on my blog. Check it out! Not her best but still a good read.

The events jump from the present to the past and are told through the eyes of multiple characters, revealing new information at just the right time to create suspense and mystery while also giving a complete view into the characters themselves and their motivations. There were some things that I was able to figure out early on, but there were still some enjoyable twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.
This was a fun mystery about a missing sister. Lots of elements I like: secrets, lies, past deeds, unreliable characters. Thanks to #NetGalley for this ARC!
