I couldn't stop laughing ? on the above paragraph and quote,"Are we going to eat bitches?"
"Peaches, baby."
"We like bitches."
Tess looked pained. "Peaches. And yes."
"So does Jasper.....

If you think you're about to die, then what's the harm in telling your Mom you've met 'The One'? None; unless you live and have to carry out the sham.

Fun and humorous!

A cozy, warm mug of cocoa with extra marshmallows kind of book. I have some exciting, life changing decisions ahead of me and this was the perfect book to disappear into and take a brain break. Can‘t wait to read the next in the series and spend a little more time in Tahoe. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #romantsy

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I really enjoy Shalvis's books. Hope your decisions all fall into place!!! 1y

This is a lighthearted fake dating romance. I actually liked it more in the beginning than in the end. The story was hopeful & cute. I had issues with the characters. The two male MCs could have been the same person. Nothing made them unique. All of the characters had an unusual level of self-awareness & could easily identify motivations that usually take years of counseling to unearth. ⭐⭐⭐

There has never been a Jill Shalvis book I haven't loved. They are all comfort books for me. Jane and Levi have never met but end up stranded together on a gondola during a horrible snowstorm. Faced with the possibility of dying, Levi calls his mom to say goodbye but can't do it so instead tells her the one thing that will make her happy - that yes, he finally has a girlfriend. When they make it out alive, Jane agrees to be his fake girlfriend...

tracey38 for a family dinner and well... things go from fake to not so much. It's a sweet and fun story. 2y

I have been in a print book reading funk lately. I know that covid is to blame. Over the past couple of weeks we have had some kids and teachers test positive at the preschool I work at. One of them being a close friend. So I knew that I needed to read a book by a favorite author. Jill Shalvis didn‘t disappoint at all. I love the laugh out loud moments I always have when reading her books. I love the friendship, drama and love that she writes!

tracey38 Jill Shalvis is a favorite author of mine as well. I know I can always count on her stories to make me smile and even laugh out loud. I picked this book up this weekend. And I can relate. I work in healthcare and we have had staff testing positive since Christmas and being out, plus positive patients coming in and it's just making me feel so very down after all this time. So I've done almost nothing but read outside of work to leave the real world 2y
Lovesbooks87 @tracey38 it does get you really down. I teach two year olds so they don‘t understand what is going on and still want to be loved on and in your face. So it is just a risk that we take with working with little ones. I upped my mask game this week which makes me feel better. Audiobooks have been my best friend this past week as well as Keeping my friend company by talking to her one the phone when she was isolated from her husband and daughter. 2y
tracey38 @Lovesbooks87 I'm glad you're keeping her company on the phone. 2y

Once again, Shalvis combines family drama, love, and great characters to make a great romance read. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher.

The Family You Make has everything you need: humor, romance and a lot of feels.

The main story focuses on Jane and Levi, both of whom I adored. They‘re far from perfect but compliment each other nicely.

I also enjoyed the secondary romance between Mateo and Charlotte. Things didn‘t go as deep for them, but I loved how things were handled.

This will easily be in my top ten for 2022.
