Absolutely loved it. Bought a box of grape nuts before even chapter 5. Loved loved loved. I wish I could‘ve been her friend.

My book club gets together this weekend to discuss this one— my second experience with the author‘s writing! I really didn‘t know much of anything about the life of Marjorie Merriweather Post going in, I did enjoy this view of her life. The cereal heiress and wealthy women hits some discordant notes throughout- vacillating between savvy and naive, generous and completely self-absorbed. I just wish there was more to really bring her to life here!
Book 45/100 of the year.
This was more so-so for me than a pick but it was well written and descriptive and does make me want to read a non-fiction book about Post's life. She's a big figure out here on Long Island so I'm curious about her. She was quite charitable but there's something about her that I didn't like. She had some pretty bad luck with men, that's for sure!!!
I enjoyed learning about Marjorie Merriweather Post. What an amazing lady she was!I truly wish I could go back in time and meet her. This is one of those stories I couldnt but share with my family as I was reading it.Its just amazing to hear of all of the achievement this woman accomplished during her lifetime.I hope to visit some of the landmarks that I learned about at some point in my travels.Heres to Marjorie for making this world a better place
4⭐️ I quite liked this book. I have known about her property in Palm Beach and as I read the book, I was quite surprised at what an amazing woman she must have been. I wish she had had a husband who was better suited for her. #2022 #bookreview #bookstagram #historicalfiction #fiction #basedonatruestory #wwi #greatdepression #wwii
This was my October #bookspin book
I visited the Hillwood Estate in Washington D.C., the former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post. A fascinating woman, I had planned to read this new book. There was a signed copy in the gift shop and it came home with me. The Sevres Porcelain Book was a surprise. It was a gift when purchasing a book! If you are in the area, I encourage you to visit. It is magnificent! Also currently, there is an exhibit of Grace Kelly and Dior!
Who knew when I sat down and ate my favorite cereal there was so much behind the creators‘ story!
