Family drama/mystery for when I needed something light and easy. I was convinced this was historical fiction, which is what I was in the mood for (it‘s not!). It is an easy read though, I enjoyed the Cornish setting and family dynamics, but I guessed the “twist” early on and the dominating secret we spend most of the book working towards was…underwhelming. But then the ending was quite sweet and melted me a little hence it‘s a pick.

squirrelbrain It definitely looks like HF with that cover 🤷‍♀️ 10mo
JillR @squirrelbrain I know, I think that‘s what threw me. And I was really fancying some non-challenging HF too 😏 10mo

Think 13th Tale with family mysteries unwinding. Unlike 13 th Tale, though, the final twist was obvious to me well before the ending. I still really enjoyed the story and the fabulous writing.

Eloquently written, dual timeline gothic mystery set in Cornwall. It‘s very atmospheric with some well rounded characters. It has an interesting plot line which gradually draws the reader in, it‘s quite a dlow burn and a page turner at the same time. Love the setting!

Three sisters meet in north Cornwall for a confront of the past. They are sisters on their father side but have different mothers. The story is told in 3 POV's. There are plenty of secrets and they are haunted by what happened twenty years ago. It has a well crafted set of characters and a plot that is cleverly written.

EadieB The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. If you love action thrillers then you will love this one. I would like to thank G.P. Putnam Sons and NetGalley for a copy for an honest review.

This is my #BookSpin book.

This was an intriguing read. The story jumps from the past to the present. The past mostly being told by Lauren. The plot is a fairly slow burn with each flashback revealing a little more. I had figured out Gemma's part in the story but there were still a few twists and surprises along the way. The ending was well done and finished the story just right. The characters are a mixed bunch with no one standing out to me. #Netgalley 3*

This is a good sister drama mystery. Does that even make sense? Three sisters are summoned to the ancestral home. They must confront a tragedy and their involvement in it.
