I think the subtitle resume very well the plot of this thriller without spoiling anything. It started as a reunion of five of seven “friends”?. But then, the reunion ended with murder. Why are they going to meet again after 10 years? Where? What happened with those two other friends. It was good but some situations were odd, maybe unbelievable, predictable, there were red flags in the first pages. Those characters were terrible human beings 3.4⭐️

Book read last week. I really liked this thriller. So many twists that I didn‘t predict. Those characters are the worse people in the world and yes, unfortunately, you can find people so selfish and sociopath (legal term) or antisocial (psychological term) like them. Oh yes! Go blind with this. 4.5⭐️ First novel I read about a person with prosopagnosia condition. Interesting what the author mentioned in her note about this condition.

Book read 1st week of January. Adam is having problems in his marriage and then a watch seller appears with a gift to go to his past and amend some decisions he made. A second chance love story. I liked some reflections that Adam made about his past, feelings and with relationships. But the story was repetitive and sometimes boring. I thought it would be funny, cheesy and cute. It turned that it was serious and did I mention boring? 3⭐️

TheAromaofBooks I feel like a lot of books have covers/blurbs that make them look more lighthearted than they really are. I liked this book, but it definitely wasn't a fluffy romcom, so if that's what you're in the mood to read, this book isn't going to work! 1w
Gissy @TheAromaofBooks True! I wanted something light at the moment I chose it but it was not. But love the cover and some parts of the story. Now I have a dilema because the book is going to stay with me. That is me with excuses to not get rid of a book😳🤣 1w

Free title translation will be When you Look At Me. A gift from a friend who is a historical romance reader. Set in 1796, Miranda, a British woman, married an unknown man in America to avoid a “scandal” after her father committed suicide and a way to stabilize her financial situation. Her husband unexpectedly died and there is a confuse situation with Mr. Hamilton. A hate/love relationship, cheesy, funny, predictable. I really enjoyed it. 3.4⭐️

These are the stories of some of the saints mentioned in the world of Grisha. Some stories are so interesting, others for me were forced, no sense at all, but this is an unpopular opinion. The illustrations were amazing, beautiful, stunning. The book per se is so pretty, so “elegant” if I can use that adjective to describe it☺️It is well done, a high quality book. For that reason I‘m going to assigned a pick 3⭐️But the content for me was so-so

These are some tales set in the Grisha world. They are inspired by myths, folklore and fairytales. I can say that I liked some of them. I liked the author‘s writing style, it kept me motivated to read in a faster pace. But I found some stories where the end was like forced without a meaningful end. This is an unpopular opinion. 3⭐️

If you liked Hunger Games, you probably will like this novel where the concept is similar. A tournament to obtain exclusive control of high magick. Seven champions will compete but only one is expected to survive. Who are these families, how they choose their champions? How is the tournament? The novel is dark and gory with some YA attraction since there is no romance per se. I really enjoyed it. Waiting for the sequel. 3.8/4⭐️

This was promising at the beginning. The horror scenes were well described, spooky and creepy. Unfortunately, the plot seemed incomplete. You don‘t know the purpose of the presence of these ghosts/demons. The story began someone telling the story to others and that part never closed, why he was telling the story, what was the purpose. It seems the author has strong religious believes because everything was resolved by praying.2⭐️Almost a pan

I have mixed feelings with this book. It is very predictable and I think was too long with repetitive of unnecessary details. Also I didn‘t like much Matt with his explosive character where he easily offended Kate twice. But besides those comments, the novel was so funny: Kate‘s mom😳🙄, her dates😆her relationship with Laura, the town gossips☺️At least in those blind dates there were staff present in their first date😅. Perfect for my holiday hallmark mood🎄☺️3⭐️

Today was my sprint triathlon. I‘m officially a finisher and survivor😆don‘t ask how much time it took me to finish it (for ever I think I was the last one in the swimming part😳). It was done and I have my medal🙌 I need to read the tagged book for future events🤣I‘m the one in the middle of those swimmers. Now, I need to relax and read.

kspenmoll I am so impressed with your attitude and drive! You have earned tons of relaxation! Congrats!!🎉🎈 1mo
mabell Yay!! Congratulations! I am so proud of you on the swimming! Were you terrified?? It so exciting to have it completed! Triathlon ✔️💪 1mo
Chelsea.Poole Wow!! Congratulations!! 🍾 1mo
sprainedbrain You are incredible! Congratulations! ❤️ 1mo
Gissy @sprainedbrain @Chelsea.Poole @kspenmoll @MaureenMc Thank you! There will be always a challenge to accomplish for me. I just watched in YouTube a man who participated in his first ironman at the age of 78. Well, with that information, I think I have time to train for that event which is so hard🤣My admiration and respect for those ironman out there🙌 1mo
Gissy @mabell It was terrifying! The surge (I think it is called when the ocean is so hard) was hard when I passed under the bridge and it dragged me against the bridge wall that I couldn‘t go out by myself. That happened to few participants but there were enough staff to assist us. So, after that terrible experience I composed myself and continue with my slow swimming pace. I think I was the last one in that part of the event😳🤣but I completed it. 1mo
mabell Wow! I can‘t imagine how scary that would be! Thank goodness there was staff to assist!! 😳😳 Great job following through and completing it! 1mo
Gissy @mabell It was scary! But I‘m alive 😃 ( I‘m dramatic) today I went to the pool and practiced for almost an hour. In 2022, I will contact a coach to take private lessons. Let‘s see how it goes. Sometimes I plan but life and family have their own schedule for me☺️ 1mo
Chrissyreadit Wow!!! Somehow I must have just scrolled and not read this! You are amazing and so inspiring!!!! I‘m incredibly excited for you- also glad there were people to help under the bridge. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🎉🙌🙌🎉🙌🙌all the accolades to you my friend! 1mo
mabell Life does seem to get on the way of our lives. 🤣 But how cool to get a swimming coach! That‘s a great idea! Are you planning to work toward a full length triathlon? 😳 1mo
Gissy @Chrissyreadit Thank you! I really enjoy doing these challenges. I so sorry that I start so late in my life. 1mo
Gissy @mabell I will love to but I don‘t if I can do it. I started this passion for these challenges late in my life and I never was in the athlete side. I was terrible in all sports when I was young. The next step, if I continue with this crazy idea, is the Olympic triathlon which has the double distance of what I did. Then, you have the half Ironman (70.3 miles) and the the full Ironman. I watched a video where 2 men did their first Ironman at age 78 1mo
Chrissyreadit @Gissy those are great goals! And I think getting a coach is a brilliant idea- especially to support knowing when to rest and when to work on different activities to avoid injuries. 1mo
Gissy @Chrissyreadit Yes!🤗 1mo
WanderingBookaneer ¡Felicidades! 1mo

I saw @thegirlwiththelibrarybag post about her visit to Beyond Van Gogh The Immersive Experience. We had it too here in PR. I don‘t know if it still on but I visited it last week. It was something simple but beautiful at least for me. Great for photos! Me trying to pretend I was kissing a young Van Gogh 😘☺️

#Best2021Swap and #Jolabokaflod boxes were sent today. It took forever for me to receive the books so I could send the boxes. There are books no available in our local bookstores. They arrive yesterday late in the afternoon. I‘m still waiting for a book but it is not for a swap. I have the tracking numbers and boxes are expecting to arrive next Wednesday. 🤗

📖 I‘m a hardcover lover!
📖 More fiction to help me deal with reality but I still like nonfiction
📖Meet the author, in that way I can understand better my fave character
📖I will continue buying books because I‘m a collector (not a book hoarder😜) but that‘s why I keep my fav books, to re-read them someday, when? 🤷🏽‍♀️
📖Both
📖More fantasy but I like some romance sometimes
📖Enemies to lovers
📖Both but I like to buy books
Thanks @Bklover

TheLibrarian Love your answer for the re-reading/buying. My response would pretty much be exactly the same! 1mo
Gissy @TheLibrarian In terms of libraries, they are beautiful to admire and see the collections they have plus some of them are beautiful but I want to have my own books☺️
Not allow to buy new books? Never is going to happen to me😜
Re-read? Well, so many books, so little time.
I will live surrounded by books the rest of my life. I bet you think the same🤗

Photo 2: yes! I loved those books. There are 2 that will help me to continue learning about this topic. Love the Valancourt of Victorian Christmas Ghosts Stories book🙌. The candles smell so good and I‘m planning to use the soap soon. Tarot cards? Yes, please! I‘m obsessed with the different tarot cards out there😍Even the pine branch has a purpose because it is in my book shelf😌

🎄I will say thrillers/mysteries but who master those genres? I don‘t know because I have enjoyed books from different authors and not necessarily all the books from one particular author.
🎄🎄At least this year, I haven‘t finish some books due to lack of time but I wanted so badly to finish The Count If Montecristo☹️
🎄🎄🎄Today, I could be at home relax and spent good hours readings📚🤗

Thank you for tagging me @Eggs 🥰🎄💚❤️
