so-soI don‘t know. This one just didn‘t grab me. I almost DNFed it, but it picked up at the end and all the loose ends (and I mean very loose) were tied together. Gangsters, prostitution, drugs, Yakuza, Nazis, harm to family members, betrayal, suicide/murder(?), lots of blurry lines, confusion, but a satisfying ending. And a sort of cleaned up Inspector Rebus. Meh. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
pickFirst time I read this genre #tartannoir So I can‘t comment much on this, but definitely I will include these type of books in my future reading. This detective story revolves around Nazi war criminal, underworld rivals & personal life. Interesting read though I couldn‘t connect at some places. 3.5🌟
