As I was reading this chapter (4) I found it be so timely…I was listening to the pouring rain & wind for day 2. Flood warnings..my house is on high ground but nearby roads run parallel to the Farmington River, so often the land & roads flood. #Naturalitsy # litsolace #springequinox #Springbooks
“I might want something, you know. Are you going to read all day?”
My #FridayNightShare #MidWinterSolace read. It was a gift in a swap last year from @Chrissyreadit and I saved it for, you, guessed it, winter! I also included some of the goodies from @wanderinglynn that I received in today‘s swap because they didn‘t all fit in the other picture and I forgot the potion! #naturalitsyswap
Winters in the World is one of my year-long reads this year. While it‘s not only about Winter, it does begin there, and of course Winter is in the title, so I figured it would count for our Non-fiction Winter prompt. ❄️🙂❄️

Pre-dinner snack & a read of ch3, New Year to Candlemas. Traces the feast of of the New Year to Candlemas from Anglo-Saxon era to early Christianity with the birth of Christ. The author accounts for rituals & prayers, often a blend from both eras, with an emphasis of gratitude to “mother earth” & all she provides.
Chrissy, I just opened my gift from you - thank you! Such a surprise! The book sounds intriguing! ❤️ Happy Winter! ❄️
@DebinHawaii has won for this weeks #fridaynightshare for #midwintersolace

For this week‘s #FridayNightShare (the day just started here 😉) I am sharing the tagged book for Solstice/Equinox. Although it‘s not exclusively wintery, it looks at the seasonal traditions, festivals and customs in Anglo-Saxon England & the first section of the book is Winter. A friend gave it to me last year for the holidays & I while I have not read it cover-to-cover yet, I love the mix of history & poetry.💚🌲
What a beautiful package of natural goodies, @Chrissyreadit ! I had a tough time fitting everything into the photo. It‘s all lovely and so thoughtful. The books are perfect. I so wanted the tagged one! Not just a tea towel but a gorgeous tote bag too . . . and the bookmark! I love it all. I‘m so glad we could exchange in this swap. Thanks for hosting, @AllDebooks and @jenniferw88 ; it was such a fun swap. Happy Solstice / Happy Litha to all.
