2.75⭐• Every time I thought I was close to finishing the book, the author would throw a new twist, and it kept getting crazier with each new reveal. Also, all the covid bullshit dragged this down for me but I‘m not sure that the author could‘ve sold this scenario without a lockdown. Overall it was outlandlishly entertaining in a popcorn-y thriller kind of way.
• The narration by Brittany Pressley is the only thing that made this story worthwhile.

Want to read a book that has one of the most annoyingly insufferable main characters ever written? Then pick this one! Ok, that might be a bit strong, but truly, the MC in this book is the worst portrayal of a woman…neurotic, clingy, needy, weak-minded, desperate…this is the worst book I have read this year. You can tell this author thinks she is a modern feminist writer, but this book of hers only demonstrates her dislike of both men AND women.

I made it to 60ish pages before removing this book from my e-reader. I didn't connect with the protagonist, and I think it was because of the way the author attempted interiority and foreshadowing, and the book written in the 1st person read like an annoying person constnatly vague booking for attention.

Ridiculous. It felt like the author was taking the book in one direction, then realized that wouldn't work, and added in some even more ridiculous BS. A couple of times.
The narrator/main character is neurotic, whiny, and frankly, I wanted to shake her most of the time. I almost bailed a few times, but it was like a train wreck I just couldn't look away from.

5feet.of.fury I also hated this book but I have forgotten everything about it 😅 9mo

This was a sexy psychological thriller - my jaw dropped when the real killer was revealed.

I wanted a quick mystery/thriller to read and I picked this up at the library. I wish I hadn't. 😂

There isn't a single good thing I can say about this book other than thank god it's over. Bad writing, bad story, and just a terrible read for me.

Let me save you from my misery. Skip this one!

I couldn‘t find in the reviews but someone specifically told me this book was awful, & I said “Oh, but I like Bartz…” but I should have listened, it was AWFUL.
I can forgive an impulsive/self centered MC, but not when they are this stupid. If she said “what‘s the plan?” 1 more time like the other characters weren‘t living the events at the same time as her… & just so whiny. The twists did not save it.
Only likable character was Virgo the cat.

Kelly is an idiot. I‘m so over this book at 50% and I usually like Bartz.

“Okay! I‘m just asking. I‘m a big fan of Mike. But…to play devil‘s advocate, there are things you‘ve said you don‘t like about him. Like how he doesn‘t know what to do with himself when he‘s upset, or how he hates the beach and you‘re a total water baby. Or, or how he‘s a picky eater so you don‘t get to try out weird recipes anymore.”

😂😂 do people NOT have relationships like this?

This was a really awful book. I can‘t believe I finished it. It takes place during Covid…which should‘ve stopped me…but I kept going. It was outrageously ridiculous on so many levels.

Frankly, I found this thriller somewhat ridiculous and implausible, but I also really enjoyed it! I thought I had some bits figured out, but there were several things that surprised me. There‘s a lot going on here, which I think may end up being too much for some readers, but it was a fun ride for me.

Surprised me! I knew the basics of the story as the synopsis explains that Kelly connects with an old friend from high school and her husband during COVID lockdown days. Kelly's fiance just refused to reschedule their wedding, and she decided to hunker down in her friends mansion near DC. Everything is going great until they open their marriage to her. Not only that, but Kelly finds out they've done it before, and the ex is missing. 🦋🦋🦋🦋

I love her books and raced through this one! Kelly fights with fiancée and leaves to stay with old high school friend, Sabrina and husband Nathan in a huge country estate. But things get weird as they draw her into a threesome and odd sightings occur! There is so much more to this darkly-plotted and creepy-good novel that I was on pins and needles! #NetGalley

MyNamesParadise Oh I‘m excited for this one! 2y
