Row 1: still reading -just finished Bulletproof Barista tonight.
Row 2: finished reading
Found this fun little gem on Libby when I was looking for something to listen to during kitchen chores. The author‘s mother is Judith Miller (of the British Antiques Road Show), so she grew up around antiques and decided to meld that experience to her love of murder mysteries. Fun little brain candy mystery, though bless her heart, Emilia Fox‘s American Southern accent is comically horrendous. Oh! And there‘s a second book on the way! 😊
82/150 I wasn't sure if this was my kind of book at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is delightful, a solid mystery with twists and turns, red herrings and plenty of clues for the reader to put together. I didn't like Freya at first, but once she got into hunter mode, and her confidence grew, she became a much more agreeable character. I look forward to more adventures with Freya and Carol, as the author as indicated ⬇️
Enjoying the sunshine while I can. Really enjoyed this book. Well written. Short chapters. Easy to read. Interesting characters. End I did not see, nicely tied up. Researched the author , her mum is/ was on Antiques Road Show. Judith Miller who wrote lots of books about antiques and was author of Millers‘s Antique Handbook and Price Guide. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Freya has avoided her antique mentor for 20 years, since she believes he helped kill her love in Egypt at that time. When her mentor Arthur is found dead, and she receives a letter from him telling her to where to find the unique bird he's looked for, she is pulled back into the career she was so good doing. If you like descriptions of antiques and a whodunit story, you will like this book. Between a 3 and 4 for me
This is between a pick and so so for me. It was a good mystery and I liked the antique aspect of it. Arthur, the man murdered, left clues for Freya and her Aunt Carol. Carol was a great character. I would suggest this to others for a good mystery.
This was a good casual read. Cozy and lighthearted. Great back and forth between the two main characters, a niece and aunt. They‘re trying to decipher clues about the death of their friend, whilst uncovering a dastardly scheme. 5 ⭐️
