Thirty years hiding from her past. Eight deaths still unexplained. One haunted horror film. Nowhere left to run. Journalist Laura Warren is mid-flight to LA when she learns that the streaming series shes about to report on is a remake of a 90s horror flick. A cursed '90s horror flick. The one she starred inand has been running from her whole life. As a child star, Laura was cast as the lead in The Guesthouse. She played Tammy Manners, the little girl with the terrifying gift to tell people how the Needle Man would kill them. But her big break was her last, as eight of her cast and crew mates died in mysterious ways, and the film became infamousa cult classic of fictional horror that somehow summoned the real thing. Hoping to move on, Laura changed her name and her accent, dyed her hair, and moved across the Atlantic Ocean. But some scripts dont want to stay buried. After landing, Laura finds a yellow dress like the one she wore in the movie. Then the words Shes here scratched into the wall in an actor's trailer. And then people working on the series start dying. Its all happening again, and Laura finds herself on the run with her sister and a jaded psychic, hoping to find answersand to stay out of the Needle Mans lethal reach. An homage to slasher films with a fresh take on the true price of fame, Burn the Negative is a twisty thriller best read with the lights on.

Stayed up late listening to this propulsive, chilling take of a former child star who is unable to outrun the doomed cult horror movie she starred in as a child. Is the film really cursed, or is a murderer on the loose? Highly recommend. #audiobooks

This is a book about a cursed film (think the Poltergeist deaths but more). The MC was a child star who's most famous movie is a cult legend and is wildly assumed to be cursed... so of course 20 years later there's a remake in the offering. With a new name and a new career as a journalist, she thinks the nightmare is behind her, but she's soon dragged back in as the curse awakens. #Scarathlon @Clwojick @StayCurious #SkeletonCrew @Emilymdxn

Filling the slasher trope with page turning fun! A former child star turned journalist reluctantly returns to the horror film set that is getting a recent remake only to discover that many of her ex-castmates and crew have died under mysterious circumstances. Upon further investigation, she finds a connection between the fictional movie's Needle Man killer and a real-life copycat.

Low pick. UK journalist, Laura Warren, is sent to cover the remake series, It Feeds, based off the cursed film The Guesthouse. A film who saw 8 people related to the making of it die horrible deaths. We find out Laura Warren is really Polly Tremaine, the child star actress who played Tammy Manners in the movie The Guesthouse. People on the set of It Feeds are dying and everyone is asking if the curse is back. This had some pacing issues. 👇🏼

Reggie 3/7ths of the way in I wanted to throw my book at Josh and shout why are your characters doing this? How is this moving anything forward? You‘re wasting everyone‘s time. But then he gets back on track and I had to know how it ends. I think he needs to focus on coloring in some scenes and characters a little bit more. It ends up being kinda fun. I love that a girl in here breaks the biggest of supernatural girl codes. Low pick. 7mo

This started out so good….90s horror nostalgia, possible haunted movie set/house, a monster with needles for fingernails….☑️➕! Each chapter was relatively short and ended with some form of mixed media related to the filming at the heart of the story, whether that was part of an article, screenplay pages, or something similar. It did start feeling a little long and I wanted it to just move along to the conclusion, but to be honest the ending ⬇️

candc320 Cont‘d: was kind of a letdown. But all in all it was interesting and different and made me think of all those 90 horror movies I love. 🌟🌟🌟💫 8mo
