A December to Remember
A December to Remember | Jenny Bayliss

Three bickering half-sisters must come together to compete in a series of wacky challenges to access their inheritance in a winsome holiday story from the author of The Twelve Dates of Christmas. Wildly different half-sisters Maggie, Simone, and Star have hardly seen each other since their sprightly summers at Rowan Thorp, their eccentric father Augustuss home. Known for the fruitful ways in which his bustling knick-knack shop kept the tired town afloat, Augustus was loved by all and known by none, not even his daughters. Now, years later, the three estranged women are unexpectedly reunited at the reading of Augustuss will. Maggie, Simone, and Star are shocked to find out that Augustus has engineered a series of hoops through which the three women must jump to unlock their inheritancethe last thing any of them want to do. But Maggie and Star desperately need the money. And who would Simone be to resist? Through hilarious goose chases, community mishaps, and one heart-warming winter solstice celebration, love, hope, and reconciliation is in the air, if only the three sisters can let themselves grasp it.

Bailedbailed

Got about halfway through and had to come to terms with the fact that I‘m extremely bored and lost all interest in what happens with these characters. I just couldn‘t keep reading and was dragging my feet with calling it quits. Plus, I couldn‘t stand one of the MCs. And I just don‘t want to waste more time with this one, so DNFed!

This was so Christmassy, soothing, and memory-inducing. I loved this peek at a unique family with strained dynamics they need to work through in order to honor their dad, reconnect with their roots & possibly find a treasure. Small town vibes with lyrical writing that feels like warm cocoa with extra marshmallows. Loved it! #wintergames read, 26points, #wordsearch 3,210 points. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #readathon @Andrew65 #dashingdecember

I liked this one a lot more than the other holiday books I've been reading. While there is definitely romance in it, this is really a story about family and sisterhood, both biological and womankind. The dynamics among the three sisters felt believable, and the community in which they live was inspiring. Great atmosphere as well.

A lovely holiday read! Not super Christmassy, but it made me feel good and want to live in Rowan Thorp, which is all I ever ask for. Love how the North sisters reunited and found a home! #womensfiction #christmasfiction

Mehso-so

I enjoyed parts of the book, but I also found it to be rather boring. I didn't really care about the characters except in certain moments. Toward the end of the book, I was starting to care, but it never actually happened. I did like the way we see the relationship amongst the sisters and how that changes.

Oh my gosh, so so cute! I went through all the emotions while reading this and had such a hard time not finishing this in one go. It's a little absurd, but absolutely magical and perfect for for getting me into the holiday mood.
