I actually read this a couple of months ago but forgot to write a review. This is the second novel I have read by Claudia Pineiro. She is a fantastic storyteller. I seem to be reading a lot of books about motherhood lately. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was good, but not as tight & well paced as Elena Knows. I think perhaps because even though this is only slightly over 200 pages, the story was drawn out enough to lose a bit of steam. With Elena Knows the tension just ratchets up until BAM Claudia hits you over the head with the end.
With this if she could have somehow continued the railroad scenes as standalone chapters, they may have propelled the story better.
So true; mature love is far more nuanced and complex than young love. ♥️ The singular is plural and the plural is singular. My husband and I were even younger.
I loved this. The author may be going on my must read list.
Barbara! You totally spoiled me and Molly! I am so excited to have another from your top 23 of 23! (I‘m reading Forgotten on Sunday that you also sent me today. 💜💜 loving it of course!) Mom and I will enjoy the Dutch tea, too! However did you find it here?? Molly thinks the cactus is a great peanut butter delivery device! 😁😁🫶🏻🎄 Thank you!! Merry Christmas!!
@LeahBergen you absolutely spoil me!!! I love my #jolabokaflod package. So many of my favourite chocolates, and I'm so looking forward to the Piñeiro ❤️ and I absolutely love the Biblioasis Christmas ghost story collection - I have a couple but this one is new to me. I love it all, thank you so much.

Thank you so much Barbara, this was a wonderful read. Poignant, melancholy and sad 😢 achieves a lot in 200 pages.
This author is amazing.
After 20 years Mary Lohan (her new name) returns to her homeland #Argentina. She‘s not sure how or even if she‘ll deal with her past but it‘s something she can‘t forget.
I can‘t even begin to explain why I loved this book so much. The plot even has some weak points and yet Claudia Piñeiro is such a gifted writer, her main character, the damaged Maria, such a wonderful human. It left me breathless. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#ReadingTheAmericas ??
I guess I‘ll have to read this one too now (see my earlier post!)
Loving this book and this author and now she recommends an all-time favorite book of mine. Serendipity 🤍
Some #bookmail today. Loved Elena Knows so very excited for tagged. The White is for our October #NaturaLitsy read. I went with the Oxford University Press illustrated edition. It‘s quite lovely!
I had fantastic luck in second hand book shops today! 🎉
Excited to read all of these, but especially the tagged novel (which is apropos) because I have been regularly haunted by Elena Knows. I could reread it now if only I had a copy! It‘s on my to buy list.
I wish you all could smell the Thai basil.
