Do you know what your brain is made of? How does memory function? What is a neuron and how does it work? For that matter what's a comic? And in the words of Lewis Carroll's famous caterpillar: "Who are "you"?""Neurocomic" is a journey through the human brain: a place of neuron forests, memory caves, and castles of deception. Along the way, you'll encounter Boschean beasts, giant squid, guitar-playing sea slugs, and the great pioneers of neuroscience. Hana Ro and Matteo Farinella provide an insight into the most complex thing in the universe.Produced in association with the Wellcome Trust, one of the world's largest medical charitiesA superb introduction to the complexities of the brain for the laymanHigh production values, FSC paper stock, and foil embossed coverHana Ro, PhD, is a neuroscientist from Oxford University, England.Matteo Farinella, PhD, is an illustrator specializing in graphic journalism and scientific illustration. This is a fun, cheeky and interesting graphic novel about the brain, written by two neuroscientists. It introduces the reader to some of the brains' basic functions and some of the scientists in history pivotal in furthering the understanding the brain. It's a fast read and I really like the recommended reading list at the end of the book.

Dr. Hana Ros is the co-author of this wild-looking graphic non-fiction about how the brain works. It was recommended by a friend. I'll have to request it from the library soon.

3⭐ This is a nonfiction graphic novel which describes the processes of the brain. It presents challenging information in a mostly easy to understand format. There is still some challenging material, but the pictures help explain it. Definitely check it out if you want a general overview of how the brain works.
