Always the nerdy girl, never the girlfriend~Until her cocky best friend and his *ahem* rooster take charge.Look, I've had it bad for the girl with all the curves next door forever. She turned me down in high school and since I'm not a total douchecanoe, I lusted after her all by myself in my shower, and we stayed just friends for years. Now she's the adorkable librarian next door and I'm the star quarterback of the best pro football team in the league. So when she asks me to be her fake date to her all-girls school reunion I am totally down to show her off to the mean girls who bullied her back then so they can see just how incredible she is.I'll be the best boyfriend they've ever seen. The best fake boyfriend that is.Until I find out from her slightly-stalkery classmates that she still has her v-card. I don't see how that is even possible. Not with how sexy and sweet she is. Could it be because she knows she belongs with me?This curvy girl and football quarterback sports romance has a baddie plus-size woman who knows her own worth and a Bridgertons-meets-American-Football family you'll wish you were a part of.

So I‘ve read the first two in this series, and now I‘m on the third. I have to admit that this series is somewhat of a guilty pleasure…

julesG Can relate. I binged the first three. 2w
Mirazzles I‘m glad I‘m not alone! 😎 2w

I found characters likable but couldn't really relate to the romance. I admit that I prefer slow-burn.

This was also a bit too predictable and similar with so many other romance books that I might have been even a bit bored for that reason. This was a light read.

I didn't like the writing but I loved the message of the book.

Thanks @MicheleinPhilly for this second hand recommendation.

Very body positive #Romance about Friends-To-Lovers/Fake-Dating.

Chris has been in love with Trix for ages, but the quarterback doesn't dare to ask librarian Trix out. She's his best friend and he does and doesn't want to ruin the friendship. But when Trix needs a fake date for her reunion, Chris might finally get his chance.

For the month of April I had to go with this delightful book. I‘m reading the second one now. Swoon.

I loved this! In my head Chris was like a Jason Mamoa type quarterback. Could‘ve used more 🌶️, but I loved the story.

Apparently, I‘m going through a contemporary romance phase. I saw a review of this book by @LibrarianRyan the other day, and made a snap decision to see if I could find a copy. It was absolutely a pure fluff read about a football player and a librarian who are long time friends. There‘s low drama and an emphasis on body positivity.

#audiobook

LibrarianRyan Yep!! I won‘t lie I read it for the title. 😁 7mo
willaful @LibrarianRyan If you feel like doing a challenge, @Faranae 's #URC has that exact prompt. :-) 7mo
Daisey @LibrarianRyan That‘s absolutely what caught my attention, and your positive review made it an easy decision. 7mo

Faranae @willaful I saw the tag and thought “well, that's somewhat smuttier than willaful's usual URC fare...“. The URC *also* has “A book involving fowl“, although I really hope no one submits purely euphemistic chickens to it, or that will be an exclusively romance review post next year. 😂 7mo
willaful @Faranae I don't have anything for the fowl prompt yet! 🔔 7mo
Daisey @willaful @Faranae This one has a few real chickens and the rooster Luke Skycocker is definitely a key character! 7mo
willaful @Daisey Good to know. :-) 7mo
LibrarianRyan @willaful I can NOT add another challenge. 😁😁😆😆🤭🤭 7mo
willaful @LibrarianRyan relatable! 7mo
Faranae @Daisey That is a FABULOUS name for a rooster.

(Aside: I run the URC every year, but also the MRC, which is only 12 prompts, and the FRC, which is 25. Check them out sometime for next year maybe 😁)

LibrarianRyan @Faranae I will. I do the BBRC every year. Its runs on a fiscal year rather then a calendar year. The goal is to read books in every age group (ie Birth and beyond).

Can I find your challenge on StoryGraph or just Listy>

LibrarianRyan @Faranae you had me at Storygraph, Here is the current BBRC. The new one isn't loaded yet. https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading_challenges/d3cd2784-48d6-47f4-9a45-1743546... (edited) 6mo
Faranae @LibrarianRyan I'll mark it on my calendar so I remember to give it a try! 😁 6mo

4.5 ⭐I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt like I was looking at myself 20 years ago. I was a tween librarian in Colorado who is fat. Didn‘t have the football playing best friend but that just made this all that much better. I love that this book centered around a fat girl. Not a curvy girl, a fat girl. And that romance and sex were completely allowed and rejoiced. This book is pretty gosh darn predictable.
