Innkeeper Holly White is decking the halls this Christmas season, but someone is on the naughty list when a body is discovered in the fifth installment in the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series from bestselling author Jacqueline Frost. Its Christmastime in Mistletoe, Maine, and the Historical Society has launched a widespread campaign to celebrate the towns 150th anniversary. Descendants of the founding family, the Snows, have returned for the first time, and Holly is determined to make the familys visit magical. In an attempt to put Mistletoe on the map, Hollys mother, a respected local baker, attempts to break a record by baking the worlds largest gingerbread man, but her plans are whisked away when Mr. Snows body ends up in the batter. When Mr. Moore, the local mistletoe farmer, is accused of the crime, Holly reprises her role as amateur sleuth to protect the sweet older man. Between hosting the inconsolable Mrs. Snow and other guests at the inn, receiving threatening messages telling her to stop her investigation, and preparing for her first wedding anniversary with Sheriff Evan Gray, she might need a Christmas miracle to survive. When someone breaks into Hollys office and scratches a warning into her desk, she knows she has little time left. Can Holly uncover the killer before someone else gets burned, or is her involvement a recipe for trouble?

A fantastic addition to the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series and even though there is always a murder at Christmas time, Mistletoe sounds like the perfect place to spend the holidays!

This one was slightly better than the past two in the series. Even though amateur sleuths are supposed to be super inquisitive, Holly‘s disregard of her loved one‘s concerns really bothers me. Other sleuths do the same thing, so I‘m not sure why it bothers me with Holly! However, it‘s still a pick for me, and Mistletoe, Maine will soon rival Cabot Cove, Maine for murders.

I baked my Andes Mint cookies this afternoon while listening to this.

Librarybelle @Pogue —I know you were curious about these! This is the first time I made them since sending you the recipe! 4w
Christine Ooh yum! Do those have Andes mints stuffed inside of them, or chopped up…or both?? 4w
Mollyanna Those cookies sound delicious. I love Andes mints. 4w

Librarybelle @Christine The Andes mints are chopped up! Some stores sell them now in the baking aisle already chopped up (the original recipe is from the package). I‘ve also chopped them up on my own or bought in bulk from an online nut shop. 4w
Librarybelle @Mollyanna They are a huge hit with my family! 4w
Christine Yum and so fun! 💚 4w
AlaMich I keep seeing those Andes mints at the store and thinking I should bake some cookies. They are also amazing in chocolate cookies! 4w
Librarybelle @AlaMich Oh! That sounds really good! 4w
Pogue @Librarybelle I have the recipe you sent! They are going to be my first cookies in December. 4w
