Thomas the Tank Engine: The Very First Stories (Thomas & Friends)
Thomas the Tank Engine: The Very First Stories (Thomas & Friends) | Wilbert Vere Awdry
7 posts | 2 read
With the first four tales ever written about Thomas the Tank Engine and illustrated with the art from the original book, this hardcover storybook is a must-have for every Thomas & Friends fan! First published in 1946, the stories launched Thomas firmly into the hearts of countless train-loving little boys and girls and their families, where he has remained ever since. This beautifully designed new version of timeless favorite tales makes it a classic for today, tomorrow, and always!

CarolynM Oh goodness! I read so many Thomas stories (and watched so much of the TV show) when my son was little I felt like it was coming out of my ears! 😳😷 It never occurred to me for this prompt, though. 5y
Ruthiella @CarolynM Sorry for bringing up such painful memories! 😂😂I feel like these last ten or so prompts are super hard for me to relate to a book title. I‘m grabbing at what ever comes to mind. 🤪 (edited) 5y

Okay I will admit, I don't always follow back, mainly because I don't always catch it. But I usually do. And I comment back a LOT! Plus probably drive you nuts with posts. 🤓😜

#litsyfollowbacktrain

Sophoclessweetheart I don‘t always follow back, if they have similar book tastes then I will but if not, then I don‘t. Not being mean, just - if we don‘t share a taste in books we‘re not likely to talk are we? 🤔💛 6y
Andrew65 That‘s what I cal, a train! Great idea and have already put my name forward. 6y
Ddzmini Yea we are getting the train going 6y

Moved the boys‘ bookshelf downstairs and collected most of our kids books in one place for the first time. It‘s already overflowing, but it beats tripping over stacks of books. 🤦🏼‍♀️📚📚📚

#librarylove for #septphotochallenge. This part of the kids area is usually crazy busy. We caught it at the end of the day.

If there's anything more depressing than to be nothing more than Really Useful with your life, I have yet to discover it. I was, therefore, thrilled when my son's love affair with all things Thomas was brief and unrequited. Hard pass, Rev. W. Awdry. Puff on, Thomas.

Eyelit My sister was so glad when her son grew tired of Thomas and his friends. She found the stories pessimistic and boring, at best. She truly despised Thomas. 8y
Posemn Yes, we're more Chuggington fans here. Our 3yo grandson ( and his grandfather now) knows all the episodes by heart I think. 8y
