'Patricia Briggs never fails to deliver an exciting, magic and fable filled suspense story' Erin Watt, No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of The Royals series. When the deadly werewolf Asil is gifted five blind dates by some anonymous "friends," his reclusive life will never be the same, in this enthralling novel-in-stories from the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of the Mercy Thompson series. Includes two all-new stories as well as three previously published stories. Dear Asil: We are worried about you. A werewolf alone is a sad thing, especially at Christmastime. So we have a challenge for you: five dates in three weeks. We have taken the work out of it and connected you with five people from online dating sites. You should also know that we have informed the whole pack and instigated a betting pool. Have fun! Sincerely, Your Concerned Friends Praise for Patricia Briggs: 'It is always a joy to pick up a new Briggs novel' RT Book Reviews 'Patricia Briggs is an incredible writer . . . I love hanging out with the amazing characters in this series!' Nalini Singh, New York Times bestselling author of the Psy-Changeling series

Today‘s BN #bookhaul to spend my Christmas gift card. I asked for the tagged, but didn‘t really expect to get it. The Hekate has the gorgeous sprayed edges, and I can‘t wait for the next book (both to read it and to see what it looks like). The Time Machine is for homeschool literature on a few months - I thought I had it, but can‘t find it anywhere. Kiddo didn‘t spend all her gift cards in one go, but very carefully considered her purchases. 👇🏻

ravenlee Her treasures already got put away, so I didn‘t get a pic, but she got some Keeper of the Lost Cities, the new beautiful hardcover of Howl‘s Moving Castle, and a manga coloring book by Christopher Hart (her favorite manga drawing book author, and this book draws on his how-to series). And maybe something else, who knows. 3w
TEArificbooks We did Time Machine for our homeschool literature in November. In January we will do Diary of Anne Frank. 3w
ravenlee @TEArificbooks what grade/age is that for? We‘re about to start Little Women for January. Anne Frank will be for history, rather than literature, around the end of January-beginning of February. My kiddo is seventh grade. 3w
TEArificbooks I have an eighth grader and high school grad in his gap year that is still learning and preparing for college. We go to a teen homeschooling literature class/book club each week and Anne Frank is what they picked for January. They switch between classic/requires school reading books and modern books. They did Little Women last year. 3w

A wonderful novel-in-stories, focusing on Asil the Moor as he undergoes a series of disastrous dates foisted upon him by an unknown friend. While probably unnecessary in the grand scheme of the Mercyverse, there is some general plot progression throughout. And it‘s genuinely fun to read about Asil‘s misadventures. And look at these gorgeous endpapers! I told hubby I want my own copy for Christmas. Probably won‘t get it but 🤞🏻

My latest library #bookhaul - if a single book can be a haul. I‘m trying to finish Nobody‘s Girl first, but I don‘t know if I can wait that long.

Absolutely fabulous, stayed up way past my bedtime and paid in head pain but totally worth it.
Asil is surprised with 5 blind dates, and each one has an unexpected adventure which also builds up the world very nicely.
5/5 read for a nice mixture of holiday and novella with excellent world building and character development

#favoritereadofthemonth (October)

I finished this in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. Once again, Patricia Briggs delivers a fun, engaging story told in 5 short stories that shes ties together about Asil (from the Mercyverse). I loved reading about his 5 dates & appreciated how she tied all 5 stories together, & even had a HEA.

Thanks for the tag @ChaptersofChaos

ChaptersofChaos Thank you for playing! 2mo

Hello! I‘ve had a bit of a Litsy-hiatus due to work travel and the newly enforced vacation (iykyk). But I missed you! Y‘all help me actually think about what I‘m reading, and it turns out that I couldn‘t remember the title of a single book I‘d read lately, good or bad, when asked by my hairdresser last week 😆 so let‘s try and turn that around. At least Briggs‘ werewolves are always memorable…
