If I Only Had a Duke
If I Only Had a Duke: The Disgraceful Dukes | Lenora Bell
10 posts | 16 read | 14 to read
After three failed seasons and a disastrous jilting, Lady Dorothea Beaumont has had more than enough of her familys scheming. She wont domesticate a duke, entangle an earl, or vie for a viscount. She will quietly exit to her aunts Irish estate for a life of blissful freedom. Until an arrogant, sinfully handsome duke singles her out for a waltz, making Thea the most popular belle of the season. The duke ruined her plans and hell just have to fix them.Garrett, Duke of Osborne, is far too heartless for debutantes or marriagehe uses dalliances and public spectacle to distract from his real purpose: finding the man who destroyed his family. When his search leads to Ireland, the last thing he needs is the determined, achingly innocent Thea, who arrives in the dead of night demanding he escort her to her aunt. His foolish agreement may prove his undoing. The road to the Emerald Isle is fraught with unforeseen dangers, but the greatest peril of all might just be discovering that he has a heart . . . and hes losing it to Thea.

A fun regency with a little mystery thrown in. Heroine becomes strong and feisty through the story. My first by the author and I wouldn‘t be opposed to reading more. Book 9/12 for #bfcr2 .

Cute Regency romance with the requisite happy ending, which I needed this week. My only issue was that it kept making references to the last book, which I haven't read in about six months.

I was happy to see Lady Dorothea transform from an oppressed miss to an outgoing dynamo in this second installment of the Disgraceful Dukes series by Lenora Bell @AvonBooks. http://bambi-unbridled.blogspot.com/2017/03/audiobook-review-if-i-only-had-duke-...

This book started strong, but couldn't keep up the pace. The ending was rushed and disconnected, and the hero didn't quite grovel enough (in my opinion) to win the heroine back. The secondary characters faded in and out of the plot inconsistently, as well.

My third #libfaves16 is If I Only Had a Duke by Lenora Bell. She is one of my favorite new authors I discovered this year. I 💜 her heroines.

Jas16 I just finished this one last night. Loved the letters in the beginning and all the references to one of my favorite artists. 7y

Somewhere between a 🤘🏻and a 👉🏼. I really liked the relationship between the hero and heroine and the secondary characters Con and Molly were excellent. However, the plot of the Hellhound, while intriguing, simply rolled over with a whimper and a conclusion off the page. I would have liked a bit more out of that. Definitely going to read the third in the series and back up to pick up the first (I have it on my nook but haven't got to it yet).

I think Lenora Bell is a terrific new voice in historical romance, with clever prose, wonderful characters, and themes that resonate beautifully. This was one of my September picks for the Post. #romantsy
