I finally got through the sequel to one of my favorite books ever. Andrew Motion did a great job capturing the feel of Treasure Island. It was well written, and the main characters really grew throughout the story. David Tennant did a fantastic job narrating this book. He does a great myna bird voice! This was shaping up to be a 5 star pick until the last 2 chapters. I really, REALLY didn't like how he finished the book.

I held back at the library sale today. Still got a good haul! And even better, my sister gave me money on my way there as a belated birthday present so I basically got a bunch of free books. :p

Mehso-so

Eh. It wasn't great. But it was David Tennant narrating, so it gets pushed up half a star for that. 😉 Now I'll go back to listening to the How to Train Your Dragon series that he narrates.

Something I found interesting: David Tennant is Scottish, but typically uses an English accent when acting. He uses that same English accent when narrating this book. Perhaps the powers-that-be were worried that Americans wouldn't understand him? Not that I'm complaining... 😉 *swoon*

melrailey I almost bought this today just because he reads it. I've been slowly listening to the How to Train Your Dragon books. He uses his Scottish accent there and they are so good. I love listening to him. 7y
