⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2. Read this one for school and actually quite liked it! I wasn‘t expecting to, to be honest, but the voice was very strong and the plot kept pulling me back in

This is described as a children's book. This it is not. Never give it to a child. It is explicit. It won the Waterstones Children's Book of the Year Award 2013. Words fail me.

I love this line. I just had to finish this book as soon as possible. Have I ever expressed how tired I am of happy endings? Well I wished this story had a happy ending. The format of letters for chapters was a welcome change. Character development is on point. I can't think of anything else I could want from a novel. 5 ?

Un libro incantevole, nonostante la trama banalotta riesce a trattare un tema scottante e attuale, quello della pena di morte. Un libro per ragazzi rivolto anche a un pubblico adulto. Consigliato

'Zoe' has done something awful, something she can't admit to her family, so she decides to write letters to a death-row inmate to confess. Interesting, engaging characters, kept me on my toes til the end. Love her little sister, Dot! 4/5*
