They're the kind of girls you envy; the kind of girls you want to hate. Strangers in town for the summer, Penn, Lexi and Thea have caught everyone's attentionbut it's Gemma who's attracted theirs. She's the one they've chosen to be part of their group. Gemma seems to have it allshe's carefree, pretty, and falling in love with Alex, the boy next door. He's always been just a friend, but this summer they've taken their relationship to the next level, and now there's no going back. Then one night, Gemma's ordinary life changes forever. She's taking a late night swim under the stars when she finds Penn, Lexi and Thea partying on the cove. They invite her to join them, and the next morning she wakes up on the beach feeling groggy and sick, knowing something is different. Suddenly Gemma is stronger, faster, and more beautiful than ever. But her new powers come with a terrifying price. Book 1 in this series. This has been on my shelf for years! I‘m intrigued so I‘ve already put in a request for book 2. Surprised it had as much mythology as it did. It had a nice mix of characters that were well developed and a storyline that was equally well written.

BarbaraBB The cover reminds me of the Nirvana album 😉 2y
Librarybelle I‘ve not read this series by this author but have read one of her other series, which I liked. Glad this one starts out well too! 2y

“ when she hung the sponge on the Faucet so it could dry, the same way she always did after a shower, she noticed something sticking to it. She picked it out of the sponge and held it up to the light, inspecting it. It was some kind of large iridescent green scale, too big to belong to the usual small fish she saw in the bay.”

Do you love Greek mythology? If the answer is yes, then you should check out this series! It's got sirens, teen romance, and good old-fashioned murder.

DuskAngelReads I loved this series! Amanda Hocking has some amazing series! All 3 I have read I also loved! Watersong, Trylle and Kanin! 😍👌🏻 7y

When you have 2 tbr piles- one is to be read but the other is to be returned(to the library). I keep getting caught up in school and as of right now I am very sick with a cold but I will try to post more and I am currently loving this book!!! Wake is really cool and I think it has a interesting plot line!! The two piles aren't pictured tho

I love mermaids and sirens, and this book really pulled me in. There were a few moments I thought could have been better executed, but overall a good introduction to the series. Already bought the second book. Excited to see what happens next.
