I read 148 books as well as my first complete read through the Bible in 2022. There was a good mix of books by both male & female authors, over 60% were from the library, and 20% were owned books. I listened to more audio than in previous years. I tried making a list of 22 for 2022 and couldn‘t make decisions, so I cut it more drastically to a list of my newly read 10 most memorable and impactful, rather than favorites.

DogMomIrene That‘s a lot of audiobooks! I‘ve been upping my audiobook time in the last 6ish months, but I don‘t think I‘d get to 786 hours! Wowser! Congratulations 🙌🏼 1y
Daisey @DogMomIrene Years ago I never would have guessed I would listen to this much either. I‘ve increased my listening over time. Now, living alone, I‘ll often listen to a whole book on a weekend as well as a bit every day on my drive to school and/or an evening walk. Additionally, I‘ve increased speed as I continue to listen. I again gave very few 5 ⭐️ ratings in 2022, but there were several 4 ⭐️ reads! My longest reads were the Bible (combination print & audio), Ulysses (all print & audio), and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (audio only).

This graph of original publication takes a bit of time to create, but I always find it an interesting aspect of my reading.

sarahbellum Your rating distribution is very similar to mine- very few 5 stars and mostly 3 stars. A book has to be exceptional to get 5! 1y
Daisey @sarahbellum Yes, and it generally also means I will consider rereading fairly seriously as well. 1y
BookwormM Same here I gave 11 out of 170 odd books 1y

In 2022 I read 36 books from the #1001books list. 2 were recent rereads that didn‘t add to my cumulative total of 208 books from the list of now over 1300 books.

I read books for #FoodAndLit, #ReadingAfrica2022, #PemberLittens, #WhartonBuddyRead, & #Reading1001 including all 12 of the #TBRTakedown choices.

Ulysses was the greatest challenge. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and Suite Francaise were favorites.

I am obsessed with cross referencing StoryGraph and Goodreads. Who doesn‘t love a nice pile of colorful graphs? 😀

#2022stats :
Total books: 114
Total pages: 40,120
Fiction: 72
Nonfiction: 42
E-books: 50
Audiobooks: 2

My GR goal was 1 book. Yes, one. I hit it on Jan. 2, and the rest of the year was just GR congratulating me on what a great job I was doing. No pressure. I highly recommend it . 🙂

wanderinglynn Awesome! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 1y
Soubhiville StoryGraph is the best! 1y
GinaKButler Um…I like that Goodreads strategy! Excellent year, Amy! 1y

JamieArc I was I spired by you last year and set it at 12. I think I will go 1 this time. It makes me not think twice about reading chunksters. 1y
Amiable @JamieArc Right? I actually set a page goal (40,000) this year on Storygraph instead of a book total in GR. It forced me to pick up the bigger books I‘d been avoiding when I was trying to hit a higher book goal. 1y
Amiable @GinaKButler Thanks! I‘ve got two super chunksters queued up for 2023–you and @Kelly326 have inspired me to do more than one! 1y
Amiable @Soubhiville It‘s addictive! 😀 1y
GinaKButler @Amiable The best kind of peer pressure! 😂 We just finalized our 2023 books today. I need to fill out the forms! Thanks for hosting…it‘s really great to look back and see those chunks crossed off my TBR! 1y
Leftcoastzen Cool ! I should join Storygraph 1y
Deblovestoread Great ideas. I have been putting off chunksters partially for the whole # goal thing. I need to rethink my strategy. 1y

I love The Storygraph and all the ways to view my year in books. My media percentage is pretty equal between audio, ebook and print.

Suet624 That's wonderful! 1y
