pickAs a former prosecutor and lover of mystery and suspense, I cannot believe I waited so long to read this classic thriller. It was intense and intricate and a great audiobook. Turow writes court scenes very well and the book had great pacing. Sabich, a prosecutor in chicago da office, begins an investigation into a murdered colleague and all kinds of twists and turns follow. #40thbdaychallenge #1987. Will read the rest of this series.

Blaire @Leftcoastzen it does look like that was the release date...when I googled 1986 books it came up (trying to read one per year). It‘s listed as a 12/31/86 original publication date. Not sure if that was an ARC. Will prob still count it for my bday challenge since there‘s only 4 days left in the year. 5y
