Carrie, didn‘t you recommend this to me? If not, oops 😂 We chatted about a bunch of books when #ALSpine started and I seem to remember this being one of them. ANYWAY! It was fantastic! If it was you, thanks 😊 @CSeydel #TBRtarot

Oof. This hurts my heart. What a light they left in the world. I first read the tagged book of poems because of Alyisha‘s #ALSpine list and it made me laugh, cry, and feel both seen and exposed. Read their books and watch their videos. It‘s good stuff and a bit heartbreaking that there won‘t be more.

A comfort read, for sure. Each chapter works as its own story, so it was easy to pick up, read a story, and come back later when I wanted to spend more time with Nagare, Koishi, and the various customers of the diner/detective agency (and Drowsy the cat!). It really hit on how food is tied to our memories and how comforting that nostalgia is, even if the memories themselves are often complicated/not completely happy.

Had to wait to post this until after our book club meeting tonight so I could include the July book. But here are my #14books14weeks

Wow, wow, WOW. How does Cosby do it? I‘ve loved every book of his, and I‘ve now read them all (here‘s hoping King of Ashes gets picked for #camplitsy25 🤞🏻). But this one is my favorite, hands down. Masterful, chilling, thought provoking. Loved it. @CSeydel I finally got to it - your “bonus” book from #ALSpine 👏🏻 #readyourkindle

I thought I couldn‘t read books with characters who have dementia (due to plenty of personal experience), but I‘m loving this one. And this quote really struck me. Is anyone really “sane,” though? 🤷♀️🧐😂 @CSeydel #auldlangspine #ALSpine

France and Italy. War and love. Passion and obsession. Storytelling and fact. A fever dream of a book. What's not to love? Winterson goes such an interesting direction with this historical fiction book that takes place during the Napoleonic wars. She uses a unique voice that I would never associate with a story part war, and characters just as unique. I think I will be thinking about this book for a long time. #ALSpine #AuldLangSpine

@CSeydel my heart is full of so many emotions after reading this beautiful book. I loved every minute of it. I wish I could write more but I‘m really just basking in this feeling that will without a doubt develop into a book hangover. Thank you for putting this on your list! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ #auldlangspine #ALSpine @monalyisha

Every so often I have a graphic novel fixation, and I‘m back on it. Bonus points if it is nonfiction or a memoir and this one is! The author grew up in Turkey and takes the reader along from the time she‘s a child, too young to be in school—though she yearns to join her sister there—through college and young adulthood. Her changes are depicted right alongside changes to her country and therefore family. A #blameitonlitsy read thanks to @JamieArc
