#UnpopularOpinion I just found this book so difficult to follow- multiple timelines, dozens of characters, so many side stories- it was just too messy for me 🤷🏼‍♀️curious to see what the #LiteraryCrew has to say about this one!! This was also on @MallenNC #ALSpine list - sorry I didn‘t love it as much as you did, Melyssa! I enjoyed the author‘s notes & im interested to see what she writes next. #ReadingTheAmericas23 #Jamaica

Megabooks I don‘t remember much about this, but I did read it. 🤔 (edited) 2w
Librarybelle That‘s a shame! I‘ve not started yet. I‘m very curious now… 2w
Cinfhen This book has tons of 5 star reviews so I have a feeling it was me @Librarybelle @Megabooks I just wasn‘t fully invested from the start and I did audio which meant I was often spacing out 🤪 2w

MallenNC There is a lot going on in this one! I read it in print and think it would have been hard to follow on audio. 2w
Cinfhen I see now that I own this book on my Kindle too 🤦🏼‍♀️ @MallenNC I probably should have switched to print!! Bummer 2w
Addison_Reads When I found out at my IRL book club that this author writes "flash fiction" it helped me understand this book more. The short chapters and the way some characters and topics just pop-up without being explored in-depth, I feel are just part of the writing style. 2w
Cinfhen Interesting @Addison_Reads that does explain the writing style which sometimes felt like bullet fire - her prose was great so im definitely curious to try her next book. 2w
TrishB I love this one, just shows sometimes just how it clicks. 2w

It seemed appropriate to finish this book yesterday, on International Women‘s Day, with Eve and Charlie. Although I wasn‘t sure about it at first, I really grew to enjoy the story and was eager to see how it all played out. It was hard not to root for our heroines.

Thanks to @BeckyWithTheGoodBooks for another great #ALSpine pick!

BeckyWithTheGoodBooks Yay! I‘m so glad you enjoyed it! 2w

Here are my March #bookspin and #doublespin picks. Bookspin is just a generic ebook, so we‘ll see what I end up reading! And the other is one of @DebinHawaii ‘s #ALSpine reads!

I admit the beginning was confusing, but once I got a bit further in, I was hooked! My favorite parts are the letters from Red to Blue and vice versa - the enemies to lovers trope in a whole different and unique way. I strive to have someone write to me the way they write to each other (swoon). My only small complaint - I would‘ve liked a little more backstory on how the war started, more origin story. The beautiful writing is just 🔥

CBee @Sapphire thank you 😊 @monalyisha thank you for #ALSpine!! 2mo
CBee I‘m going to use this for #booked2023 #twiststretchbalance and I‘m basing it on how the threads of time are twisted, stretched, balanced to change outcomes and such. @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @alisiakae 2mo
Read-y_Picker LeVar Burton read a selection from this book on his podcast a few years ago and it's been on my TBR ever since. Have to get to it! 2mo

Deblovestoread I tried to read this one awhile ago. Your review makes me think I might have bailed too early…back on the TBR it goes! 2mo
TrishB I‘ve had this on the tbr a while! You may have pushed it up the pile. 2mo
CBee @Deblovestoread I can understand why you couldn‘t get into it - it is a bit confusing. I tried to focus on the gorgeous writing and the letters between Red and Blue are mostly what kept me reading. It‘s also quite short! 2mo
CBee @Read-y_Picker love LeVar! I need to check out his podcast. 2mo
CBee @TrishB 😊😊 2mo
willaful I'm going to give this a try in print, because I was so confused when I tried the ebook and I'm hoping that will help. 2mo
CBee @willaful was it audio? Because yeah, that would‘ve totally lost me too 😳😂 2mo
Read-y_Picker @CBee omg you should! He reads selected short stories. All genres but honestly he favours sff. He is so talented, the stories he curated, the production and delivery *chef‘s kiss* 2mo
CBee @Read-y_Picker sounds amazing!! 2mo
GondorGirl This is one of my very favorite books! It's one of the only times where I finished a book and immediately started it over again. 🥰 2mo
CBee @GondorGirl oh wow!! I definitely think I would catch some things I missed the first time. And the ending was 🔥♥️ 2mo
Cinfhen I‘ve heard wonderful things about this book but I couldn‘t get into it - I must try again😅 2mo
CBee @Cinfhen it definitely takes a bit to get into! 2mo

Finished this up tonight and what a delightful start to a new series! I loved the magical and quirky world of Nevermoor. These characters were so fun and the mystery surrounding Morrigan was engaging to follow. Thanks for the #ALSpine rec @shortsarahrose - I felt like I was reading Harry Potter again for the first time and can't wait to continue the adventure 😊

I had 3 5⭐️ reads in January! That is unheard of! A big thanks to #ALSpine for putting the books on my radar.

Overall, I think this one was my favorite because I‘ve been in a huge fantasy mood.

Love this bracket! Thanks for creating it @chasjjlee !

Bookishlie I really liked this book too! 2mo

Thank you @Emilymdxn and your #ALSpine recs for getting me into this trilogy! Part 2 is a bit darker with a strong CW for child abuse, but these characters 😍!

Life continues on the high plains of Colorado, and he again features the cattle rancher brothers and the pregnant teen they helped. New characters include a social worker, who tries to help kids who aren‘t protected from a family member, and Gen X AF kids that are caring for their adults.

Megabooks Running out of things to photograph until spring, so here is a statue! 😂😂 Should have new bookshelves to share on Tuesday. Anyway book 1 if you want to start the trilogy is 2mo
mcctrish I love this series 2mo

squirrelbrain Look forward to seeing the bookshelves! 😁 2mo
Megabooks @squirrelbrain thanks! I‘m probably going to take too many pictures! 👍🏻 2mo
Emilymdxn I‘m so glad you‘re enjoying it! The third book is great too but quite separate from the plot of the first two. Im still part way through tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow but I only rly have time for grad school reading and audio 🫠 2mo
Megabooks @Emilymdxn I remember that from vet school! Sometimes the only time I had to read was the one Saturday a month I‘d treat myself to a pedicure. I‘d get one or two chapters read and maybe one or two others a week, and it would take me two month to finish I book I‘d usually finish in two days. I wish you the best of luck!! For me, it was difficult but very much worth it when I graduated. 💜💜 2mo

Oh, how adorable this is! Mika is a secret witch who‘s been alone her whole life(witches die after giving birth to a witch child). She finds herself at Nowhere House tutoring three tiny girl witches where she quickly becomes a part of the found family there. Of course, there‘s a handsome Irish librarian! This couldn‘t have been any cuter and though my dark heart has trouble with cute and romance this whimsical novel is thoroughly charming.

TheKidUpstairs I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's nice every once in a while to read something that is charming and lovely and happy. This was my top feel-good read last year. 2mo

I always like novels with strong women characters. I also learned about Tutankhamun‘s Tomb. Thanks @Birdsong28 for turning me onto a new author.
