I have some really #goodnews to share: I was discharged from my oncologist's care yesterday morning, a day short of my one year anniversary of completing chemotherapy, which was today (March 3). What this means is that my family doctor is now responsible for post cancer care and that she will be the ordering my mammograms and ordering my Tamoxifen prescription.

CBee Amazing news! So happy for you 💚 14mo

This was quite dramatic, starting with a serious car crash. I really enjoyed it, though it felt very different to a typical school story.

I got my date for my radiation treatments. I start Wednesday at noon and finish at the very latest on August 5. I‘m so glad that the end is in sight for my treatments.

I got really good news last week. My surgeon mentioned that the tumour in my left breast had shrunk to the size of a thumbnail and the margins were super clear and hadn‘t spread elsewhere and remained contained. The lymph node that had been tested in September was free of cancer and the other ones that were removed were also free of cancer. For all intensive purposes, according to my surgeon, I am cancer free. ⬇️

Chelsea.Poole Wonderful!!!! So happy for you! 💕 2y
melissajayne I just have to do a bunch of radiation treatments and another surgery to replace the port and skin expander where my left breast once was to put in a breast prosthesis. 2y

Pickpick

(1980) Second (and for twenty-six years, last) in Abbey's fantasy series featuring warrior/priestess/healer Rifkind. In this one, Rifkind defends a magic well against attack by an evil sorceress in league with a chaotic god. I first read this thirty-something years ago, and am happy to report that I found it still fun. Now I'm finally ready to read book 3!

Edward Abbey: A Life | James M. Cahalan
Mehso-so

Seems long and fact-filled. The author used many interviews to write this. I just wanted to know the true Ed Abbey, not the legend, like a reference librarian. This does provide that. He mostly played a role and was not quite like most people thought he was, but he was a good writer and I have liked the two books of his I've read. I recommend this if you want a decent account of his life, his five marriages, friends, etc.

Just posted a new episode! We talk book hauls, local bookstores, grilling, and upcoming new releases. I got the pictured #bookhaul from The Eclectic Reader in Ft. Collins. One of my favorites.

I'm starting a biography which my library has. I'm interested in Ed Abbey since reading a couple of his books. I want to separate legend from fact. I enjoyed reading The Brave Cowboy and The Monkey Wrench Gang (although it had faults).

SamAnne Despite his significant faults, his essays had an enormous impact on my life when I read them in my 20s #HaydukeLives! 3y
KCofKaysville @SamAnne I loved the old Kirk Douglas movie made from The Brave Cowboy and I liked his overall environmental message.
