1st book in the Andy Carpenter series (#SeriesLive2024). This was a bit of a wild ride. I look forward to reading more in this series. Reminds me a bit of the old McBride movies starring John Larroquette.

Wowza— it‘s hard to believe that this is the 27th installment of the Andy Carpenter series! As always, I had such fun reading this! Peppered with humor, added with the satisfaction of an early guess at the culprit proven right, this is yet another fun and fast read in what I only recently realized is actually a cozy mystery! Either way, I loved it from start to finish (though the cake knife in the kitchen had CLUE vibes!), and am excited for #28!
The latest (27th) installment in the Andy Carpenter mystery series stands well on its own. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#flop-dead-gorgeous-andy-carpenter-27
Publication is expected July 4.

A lawyer by day-and then only when he's forced to take on new cases-Andy Carpenter's true passion is the Tara Foundation, the dog rescue organization he runs with his friend Willie Miller. When Willie calls him to say the alarm has gone off at the foundation building, they find a stolen rescue dog …standing right next to a dead body. An Andy Carpenter mystery.

Audiobook for dog walking. I like mystery series for audio walking because they tend to be puzzling enough to keep me engaged, yet fairly straightforward.
Not in any way a literary masterpiece, but fun for what it was. And this one had dogs in it, which is always a plus. Woof! 🐕
Though not exactly the right holiday, like Andy Carpenter‘s wife, Laurie, I can get into the Christmas spirit any time of the year (though the photo is recycled with the updated cover- the latest of the holiday installments in the Andy Carpenter series). With his signature humor & style, this is another fast-paced & well-plotted addition to this great series! A friend from the dog rescue gets a chance to clear his name & it goes from there!
