In this prequel, we get to experience Andy‘s meeting Tara (the golden really is ageless— no puppy antics, disappointingly!), as well as Laurie & his first meal at Charlie‘s! Not to mention his first time defending an accused murderer! So much fun that it makes me want to binge re-reading the whole rest of the series! Funny & fun!

This book was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The plot is good and the dog bits are cute, but the writing is poor and there‘s an undercurrent of misogyny in the book that I can never get behind. I wouldn‘t be interested in reading this author again.

Hard to believe this is the 30th installment in the #AndyCarpenterSeries! The holiday season has arrived again, & in what has become an annual tradition, Andy once more finds himself working over the holiday! When terrier Murphy gets lost and runs to the Carpenter home, it doesn‘t take long to return him— but when Andy learns BJ is in jail for murdering his professor, he steps in & uncovers a much larger plot! As fun & genuinely funny as always!

Pretty cute holiday cozy! I‘ve read one other in the series and I‘m sure I‘ll read more.

Julie, I‘m doing #christmasinjuly this year, so here is my pick for #seasonalcozies. 🎄

1st book in the Andy Carpenter series (#SeriesLive2024). This was a bit of a wild ride. I look forward to reading more in this series. Reminds me a bit of the old McBride movies starring John Larroquette.
