Both of these books were rereads, they were fun but The Magician's Nephew seemed like it aged better. It's always nice to revisit Narnia once in a while 🦁

Vansa The horse and his boy has always been my favourite Narnia book. I love the weaving in of Arabian nights themed fantasy into this. And I like the subverting of tropes, that flighty, chirpy Lasaraleen, when it comes down to it, shows immense bravery to help her friend. 2y
imyril I've always had a soft spot for these two although I suspect I'd have a lot of eyeroll these days for the way Lewis depicts the Calormenes. Nephew is the one that has stayed with me - I have always found Jadis unusual as a children's fantasy villain and appreciated her all the more for it; and Uncle Andrew is just nastier and better observed the older I get. Such small-minded and very human sins all round (however big Jadis's ambitions!) 2y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! The Narnia series is a favorite of mine. 2y
